A beautiful spot and would not be a terrible hike in at all. Sadly the road is deteriorating from weather and abuse, fine for a comfortable off road vehicle and driver. But please tread lightly, we were able to do so..

I've traveled (by motorcycle) on the Barnhartvale Rd 100X - love it! Pure "cowboy country". Always stop at the pullout by the lake, used to call it Stinky Lake before I knew that it had a 'real' name. Used to smell of H2S but for some reason it doesn't any more, not a bit. And the water was reddish brown, but now it's just the usual inland small lake color. A beautiful spot, very hot in the summertime. I miss it - I WILL return with my friend Jim.

Absolutely gorgeous, Buse lake is supposed to be one of only 10 lakes in the entire world that is Magenta top to bottom. A beautiful location with no access to the public make this an interesting place to visit. The steep hills on the North Eastern Side offer amazing views of the surrounding area if you are able to scale up the steep, sharp rock slides and climb the face of the cliff. Personally this is one of the remote locations I like to climb and enjoy my morning coffee in the summer months, however be very careful of rattlesnakes and black widow spiders, both are common to the site.

Absolutely stunning views from up top, and there's an easy trail over to the pinnacle. Just be aware, the road up is 4x4 only and it's getting worse. If you do drive to the top, it's only a few minute hike over to the pinnacle (but the view!!!). However, if you park at the bottom of the 4x4 road up, you have a decent hike. The thing is, that means your walking up a road in a field and trees for about 95% of your hike to reach the top. That's your call. Also, be careful up top of not only yourself, but kids and dogs. Extremely steep and eroding cliffs up top. One slip and you're done.

Nice little pull out for parking. The lake was low and starting to freeze. It was nice for rock hunting. We hiked up opposite side of road. Photogenic location.

One of my favorite hikes on a clear day! Pinnacle has some amazing views of Kamloops and the surrounding area. Make sure you bring bear spray because they are in the area!

If you are in the area if Kamloops, want a short walk up but see all the views then this is your hike. The roads are backroads too get there. You’ll need at least an RV. See: Instagram @wenowrv for more.
