★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good experience! As a 24year old who has never rented a car before I was really worried about getting ripped off. I rented for 24hrs to drive across the island and had really good experiences with the staff in Nanaimo and Victoria. There were no hidden charges or scams. Definitely recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were very pleased with a recent rental at this Budget location. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff and service, from start to finish.
We were upgraded to a brand new vehicle at no extra charge as the one we had booked was not ready for pickup. Vehicle ran beautifully and was immaculate inside and out. Had an issue trying to adjust the headrest but not a big deal for short term use.
Excellent value, including a $50 coupon that we had available to use. Much cheaper overall than expected.
Special mention of Kiley, Spencer and Neal (?) the shuttle driver. All were super pleasant and nice to interact with. My husband Joe, appreciated that too! ?
Keep up the good work , it is appreciated. We will book with you again. Recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite positively the most dishonest and overpriced vehicle rental experience I have ever had. Stopped by with the intention of renting a pickup for my last move. The agent did up all the paperwork and then told me the cost for 24 hours before gas and milage would be 200.00!! At U-Haul it's about 39 bucks plus. My mathematically minded friend then asked to see the invoice and using the calculator on his phone determined that the invoice was overcharging me by about 17 dollars over the listed charges. Agent had no explaination why this discrepancy happened. I recommend everyone double check their charges, especially corporate clients. Will never rent from or recommend them. Went with U-Haul. Cheap, courteous and honest!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I needed a unexpected 4 hr extension on our return time of the car we rented. After 3 phone calls and 75 minutes on hold we were told it would be another full day rental fee for this extension. There was no negotiation or compromise. The excuse was; all computer generated and they work on a 24 hr clock.
Customer service- poor. Returning customer to Budget? Not me, it will be avoided if at all possible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rented a car with my rbc reward points. I wouldn’t of even provided my credit card if it wasn’t for having to pay for extra insurance. Then when I Dropped the car off I suddenly get a 880 dollar charge to my credit card that had already had 77 thousand points removed and redeemed for this car rental the representative tells me this is very common and I have to just call rbc to get a credit. This is almost a month later I’m still fighting with rbc for this credit and budget rental car is disputing it saying I wanted to pay using my visa…. I was very very clear when I said why am I paying for this twice this should already all be covered under this resignation number with my rbc reward points that I booked weeks prior and provided all information to budget during pickup. After spending hours and hours on hold with budget and rbc I don’t think I’d use this company again if the cars where free….
Side note car was brand new and nice and clean no other complaints other than terrible organization and basically completely lying to your customers so your lazy employee didn’t have to reverse the accidental credit card charges

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I called for my credit card charge was higher than I agreed to plus an extra charge for insurance was also made. Adam was snotty rude and wouldn’t answer any questions. I really just wanted an explanation or suggestions but he didn’t have time for anything but rudeness. Very poor costumer service! We did however enjoy the vehicle but will be making sure the extra charge goes off our visa! Really hope I don’t have to call back and experience that service again

This rental company has been exceeding our expectations twice so far, highly recommend! Even received a phone call to ask if we had forgotten something in the car, their customer service is outstanding!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have no doubt those one star reviews have valid reasons for giving bad reviews. But my experience with this location was fantastic and hassle free. The lady at the counter on pick up was very helpful, gave me complete details of whats needed for the rental. Then the drop off was seamless too even though I had to drop off the car off hours (4am on a Sunday). Then call center is a plus because even though it was a Sunday, I was able to speak to a real person without having to wait forever while in hold to tell them that I had drop the car off on the exact spot I picked it up from.
