About Brentwood Eye Clinic
We are an independently owned and operated optometric practice in northwest Calgary, Alberta. Being independently owned enables us to provide only the most personal one-on-one experience. This experience starts the moment you book your appointment with our incredibly friendly staff and carries on throughout your examination with our highly trained doctors.
The clinic was founded in 1963 by Dr. Richard Snell, who is now retired. In 2004, Dr. Brian Nakai joined the Brentwood Eye Clinic in northwest Calgary and brought the practice of Dr. Ivan McNabb to the Brentwood Eye Clinic. We have since grown with the addition of our associate Optometrists, Dr. Ronnie Blow and Dr. Ann-Marie Marsh.

Dr. Blow leaves you with no mysteries, double -- triple checks his work. On my first visit for convenience he used many techniques to evaluate my ho-hum, I don't know between: choices "one-or-two".
On this last visit he took me to a computer monitor to check out a new lense option for intermediate distance, and into the foyer to check focus at variable distances with a second option to confirm.
Today picking up glasses; both glasses and frames are extremely reasonablly priced, my options areare actua cheaper than online; I spoke to a client leaving the office and he to remarked how easy it was to understand Dr. Blow, and that it was worth the visit.
Honestly, is there an award for doctors optometry?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ronnie Blow is very well spoken and is concise when explaining his medical opinion. I appreciate how he treats his clients with respect by not dumbing down his explanations in a condescending manner but uses language understandable to the laymen. I had no issues when dealing with Dr. Blow and I felt that any advice he offered was to my benefit and was useful. And above all else, he is very pleasant to talk to, and is a pretty funny guy!

My partner had seen Dr. Blow and glowingly recommended I book in to get my eyes checked with him at Brentwood Eye Clinic. I ended up seeing Dr. Nakai and had my favourite eye exam in twenty years: he was detailed, patient and explained things to me in easy-to-understand terms.
Dr. Nakai was like one of those family doctors from 80s TV shows -- knowledge base off the charts, super trustworthy and clearly not motivated by profit. As an Aussie, he even gave me practical tips to combat eye dryness in Calgary if I didn't want to use drops every day. Wish I'd seen him years ago when I first moved here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ With its personable staff and comfortable atmosphere, I was very impressed with the Brentwood Eye Clinic. When I was having concerns about my vision, they were able to provide me with an appointment that same morning, and provided a very positive customer service experience. The eye doctor was friendly and professional, and answered all of my questions in a satisfactory manner. I believe I've found a new eye clinic, and would recommend them to friends or family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really like Dr Blow as he doesn’t make me nervous at all and he’s very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. The receptionist lady is also very nice. I wish they had a bigger collection of frames, but that’s not a big issue. Removed one star because the current experience of getting new prescription was annoying. I first got a pair of contacts that didn’t fit, and had to call three time and go back to get something else. Then the frame glasses are just never arriving. They kept telling me dates to pick up, but both dates the glasses weren’t ready, and they didn’t even call to let me know.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just had my eye exam with Dr. Ronnie Blow and I cannot recommend him or his office enough! He was very thorough and carefully explained every part of my check up to me. He showed me some things about my eyes that had never previously been explained to me properly in my 19 years of wearing lenses! His receptionist Ann was also so cheerful and helpful with directly billing to my insurance company for me. If you are in the market for a new Optometrist for you or your family, look no further than Dr. Blow!
