I joined 2 months ago and I fell in love with this gym right away. The coaches are very patient and knowledgeable. They take time to correct posture to avoid injury. There's no pressure or judgment. Every moment can be scaled or mortified to our own level. Different workout everyday. It's a super fun and supportive community. It takes my fitness to another level! I'm feeling physically and mentally stronger and stronger everyday!

Six months ago I chose Breaker Strength to help me on my journey to getting fit. It was by far the best decision. The coaching staff is incredible and the box community has been super supportive. I had no prior gym or CrossFit experience and I led a very sedentary life, but with good coaching and mentoring I’ve become stronger with every class. I highly recommend their program.

This gym is incredible! The coaching staff are knowledgeable, caring, and extremely helpful. I have always felt like the coaches care about my goals and want to help improve my fitness. The community is insanely supportive, whether it is everyone constantly cheering each other on or coming together as a community to support local charities. I love starting my day with an early morning workout with people who enjoy an early morning sweat (as well as pain and suffering). If you do Crossfit, this gym is for you.

When I joined Breaker Strength, I had no experience working out and was worried about whether it would be a good fit for me. It didn't take long for me to realize there was nothing to worry about! The coaching staff here is amazing! They are incredibly knowledgeable and can help modify any workout to suit your exercise goals and abilities. Everything I needed to know, I was taught in the classes so there is no need to worry about not being able to do something. There is always a list of options that allow for the best workout for your skill level. The community of members is also one of the best parts of the gym. It's so motivating to know that there is a supportive group of friends waiting for me who will be there to push each other to do their best every day. I went from never having worked out, to coming 5 times a week and will be continuing to do so for the foreseeable future!

Thanks to a friend's recommendation, we have been members of Breaker Strength for 10 months (initially starting CrossFit a few months pre-pandemic before having to pause, and finally joining the summer of 2021), and even Zoom-ed with Breaker through a lockdown. And here we are, months later, regular early morning go-ers. Given we are not morning people at all, that should give you a sense of how much we would recommend Breaker! For context, my partner and I played competitive/contact sports, took a few detours due to injuries, including kickboxing and yoga, and wanted to try CrossFit... but were super intimidated. If, like us, you are thinking of starting CrossFit but feeling a bit intimidated by all the movements/terminology OR if you're seeking a new gym to help you improve your fitness, these are just some of the reasons I'd recommend Breaker Strength: 1) The Community -- Breaker is inclusive, warm, welcoming, and a great learning environment, but most importantly fun. There are people of ALL skill levels working out together at the same time -- everyone is supportive, friendly, and always cheering you on. The community and small classes are a highlight of my busy days, and such a positive impact on my mental health. 2) The Space -- It is one of the larger gyms in the city, super spacious, well maintained, has a lots of equipment for varied programming, and is thoughtfully laid out. I was especially appreciative of how Breaker ensured appropriate spacing for both their COVID protocol and to make sure we were all safe to participate in whatever the workout was (e.g. enough space for people to skip without whacking each other in the face). Also, Breaker is dog-friendly/sometimes dogs make appearances and that's just a huge plus in my books. ALSO, THERE'S PARKING. And last but not least... 3) The Coaches & Programming -- Breaker's programming is excellent, thorough, and never dull; it includes Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, strength training, and conditioning. Breaker even includes programming for days you can't go to the gym/have limited or no equipment, which was so helpful during lockdown. The programming is evidence-driven, well thought out, provides progressions for folks who are learning the movements and even the most experienced athletes. (Bonus? You can view all programming, read Thom's detailed coaching notes, log your progress, and celebrate each other's progress on a free app.) What makes the programming even better are the talented, professional, experienced, and methodical coaches, who are patient and always encouraging (e.g. I used to only do push-ups from a box or my knees, never thinking I could do a pushup from my toes... now I can do several and even do them in workouts!). Also, and perhaps really important for someone who has rehabbed/rehabbing sports injuries, I REALLY appreciate that coaches are focused on creating good foundations for movement, teaching good technique, and always emphasizing safety/injury prevention. (e.g. Prior to, I hadn't really done much weightlifting, was fairly new to squats, deadlifts, and terrified of the barbell due to previous injuries. But with Breaker's coaching and appropriate loading over time, I have hit Olympic weightlifting PRs I didn't think possible and is something I really enjoy doing now!) Regardless of your fitness level or expertise, if you're into CrossFit, or wanting to give it a shot, or even if you just want to find an amazing and supportive environment to encourage you to get faster, stronger, fitter -- I highly recommend Breaker Strength.

I joined Breaker as I wanted to get back in shape after being inactive during the lockdown. Being new to CrossFit, I was nervous to join as I thought the workouts would be too intimidating. However, this gym changed my perception of CrossFit. The coaches do a great job at making sure the workouts are as inclusive as possible. They offer different options depending on fitness level. There is also a big focus on proper technique and form to prevent injury. I also like that each class focuses on various skills and movements to improve overall strength and conditioning. The community is great too! The members are very welcoming and encouraging. This type of support helps me push myself to get through the tougher workouts. Although I've only been member for several months, I've seen a huge improvement in my physical strength and capabilities. I'm really happy that I chose to join Breaker over other gyms.

I've been doing CrossFit for around 10 years at 5 different gyms. I joined Breaker, after moving to North York just over 2 years ago, and it is the best CrossFit gym I have ever gone to. The programming has made me an all around better athlete. I've improved all my Olympic/Power lifts and my gymnastics skills (and that was after months of Zoom classes through the pandemic). All the coaches are very knowledgeable, patient, and they make the classes fun. They've helped me break a lot of bad habits across a variety of movements. Finally, the community of members is amazing. Everyone is very welcoming and encouraging. Whether you have been doing CrossFit for awhile or you are looking to try it out, Breaker is a great place to go.

Breaker Strength was one the best findings of my 2021, I've been into CrossFit since 2015 and already visited many different gyms over these years. When I entered it for the first time, I could feel tradition and respect already in the air of this big high ceiling training "box", filled with good quality equipment and always displaying positive energy. What I noticed after a few weeks training there is the high technical quality of well experienced coaches and a friendly atmosphere of people motivating you to improve your performance but with proper care to keep yourself healthy and avoid any injuries. I look forward to keep training there for many more years to come.
