★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Update: When your best feature is your chips you really shouldn't serve them reheated. People aren't stupid. It's easy to tell and really takes away the enthusiasm I had for the place. All to save a dollar.
THESE CHIPS ARE FANTASTIC! Quite a few places serve decent fish and fall short on the chips, but Brady's are perfect. Crispy outside, soft and fluffy inside, and nicely browned without overcooking. The piece of cod was a good size, coated in a tasty batter and as with the chips, done just right. I'll definitely return here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have tried. I love fish and chips and have had them all over the place in Canada - coast to coast the States and England.
Brady's is awfully close. I have been there a few times. The first the fish was not cooked properly ... the chips were great. The next few times the same chips were great the fish no, I kept saying it is a one-off…
On the fish there is a criso outer layer of batter and the fish is erm …ok? Not great but ok. But everytime so far there was a layer of glop. Possibly uncooked batter or moisture from the fish causing that. I am a no chef but I know what I like. Is the fish frozen and the thawing causes this layer of paste?
Sadly the last time a week ago - because I have tried to like this place I love little mom and pop restaurants - and I am not a complainer … but not only was the fish yeat again not great in a layer of uncooked batter… but the fries were dreadful.
Soff tasteless and not really that hot?
So sorry guys … I have given up. It as been consistently bad over a few years as far as the fish goes and now the chips were dreadful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Got some halibut and chips, calamari, and a halibut burger from here last night. The fish was really good. But the chips tastes terrible. I don't think they've changed their oil in months. Don't order the fries from here. The halibut was decent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect amount of batter and crispness of the fish - best we’ve had in awhile and reminds me of the fish ‘n chips I used to get in the UK. Glad we took the halibut option. Was actually so good that I didn’t even use my tartar sauce.
Met the owners Sharon & Darren (Shazza & Dazza) too - very nice, hard working people.
Will definitely stop in here again the next time we’re in Victoria!
