I've stayed strong, fit and flexible with this terrific group for a lucky 13 years, and thanks to them have been able to avoid knee replacements. Alison (who never fails to entertain and educate as she's making you sweat), Eilleen, Tania, Fahmida and AnnaMarie (and recently Sue, in the Feldenkrais class) are all enthusiastic teachers, and I'm always learning something new. When the work feels harder rather than easier as you go along, you know you're on the right track (but there are massages from Krisha and almost-magical touch therapy from Marta if you're sore, and the expert level of instruction means you don't have to worry about injuring yourself). I walk home after a class feeling stable and balanced, yet with an extra spring in my step. My body is at its best when I buy an unlimited monthly pass and take loads of classes (sometimes two in a day), but when life is very busy, I buy 10-class passes and drop in once or twice a week. The prices are very reasonable, and the studio is bright, fresh and welcoming.

I love the wide range of classes! From self massage & restorative exercise to challenging traditional Pilates so many movement possibilities. I feel like a stronger healthier version of myself after just a few months of regular practice at the studio.

I started classes at Boomerang about two years ago. I have never had such little body pain, in my day to day life. The classes are varied and have changed my relationship with my body and how it responds. The knowledgeable teachers, teach every step of the way and as a curious person who has all of the questions, this is simply invaluable. Thank-you from the very core of my being ;).

I've been taking pilates classes with Alison since 2002 and I've been with Boomerang since the start. A wide range of classes to suit all levels of ability and different interests - knowledgeable teachers (who are constantly taking professional development workshops so they are up on all that is new in the wellness space) and a super friendly atmosphere. Simply the best!

Absolutely LOVE the stellar teachers at Boomerang Pilates. I've had many an instructor over the decades, but teachers here KNOW THEIR STUFF! I also love the intimate atmosphere of the studio with the living room lamps, string of lights on the mirror, and the fireplace. This place has a sense of intimacy and certainly not a sterile gym. Lastly, I appreciate my fellow classmates: a great sense of camaraderie here. A measure of how well a studio is run is from the top down: Alison Crouch, the director of Boomerang Pilates, has established a team of teachers on par with her high standard of information and instruction. Meeting Alison, you'll understand why Boomerang Pilates is the perfect place to strive for body balance and fitness. It's been a long time since I felt this comfortable and compelled to show up consistently to a Pilates class. So glad I found Boomerang Pilates and I highly recommend it!

Boomerang is a great studio! Their functional movement classes with Alison have totally changed how I understand my body and really help undo all the aches and pains from my computer-heavy life. You don’t need a lot of equipment to startβ€”a scarf/belt, a a small pillow, a two-inch thick book, maybe a tennis ball? Alison is always ready to offer a modification. They’ve pivoted to online classes for Covid, of course!

I have been doing Pilates at Boomerang since it opened in 2011 and with Alison for close to 8 years before that. Boomerang offers a beautiful work out space which is very well equipped but most importantly they offer an incredibly warm, inviting and friendly environment where everyone is made to feel welcome. I have had the opportunity to take classes with almost all of the teachers. Whether in the studio or on-line the teachers are amazing with each offering their own spin on whole body workouts. I highly recommend giving Boomerang a try.

The best reason to go to Boomerang Pilates is to get personal, tailored and very technical training. Their program philosophy is based on exercising correctly and moving smartly, not just exercising to burn calories. Actually on the flip side, you may only burn about 100 cals in a class but you’ll learn all about your bod and what you’re doing to it. Located inside the Roncesvalles United Church it can be a bit tricky to find and it's old, of course, but the class schedule is impressive for such a small space and drop-in prices are some of the lowest that we've seen in TO. We did the The Made to Move class that focuses on lengthening & strengthening your muscles, increase your body awareness, improve your daily movement habits, and learning to walk, squat and hang-out safely so the movements were very slow and methodical, not a challenging class but good for learning body awareness.
