Purchased a 210 Searunner HT from Scott. I found the price to be the best in Western Canada after shopping online. It was great considering we live an hour away from the dealership. Scott custom ordered our boat for us and it was perfect! The boat of our dreams. His service team had it ready for us within a day and a half upon arrival. Great price and service!!

This is the second new boat that I have purchased from the Boathouse and the reason for the repeat business is great customer service and value. As usual Scott done a great job on our new Sylvan purchase making sure all details of our requests were met. The whole crew at the Boathouse from sales, parts and service do a great job. The service crew took there time with us going over every detail of laying out the downriggers, BBQ etc. The parts and service crew were great going over servicing details and the fine points of our new boat. Keep up the great work Boathouse crew.

We ordered and bought our new 2020 HewesCraft 180 Sportsman through Scott McBride at the Boathouse in Salmon Arm. In all respects they met or exceeded expectations, price and service included. No sales BS, no gimmicks, just plain nice to do business with. The service department was there too when we needed them. Great business, great people, thanks!

Read all the reviews, see the patterns - this is nothing new. The Boathouse does not have ethical practices. I don’t usually give one star reviews (they are often simply angry and/or unreasonable customers) - but - also beware of the five star reviews, because these are often new owners simply excited to have their new toy and they would be equally excited no matter where it came from. Boathouse was striking out left, right and everywhere with my attempt to buy a boat. They showed no ethics, morality or what most of us would consider common courtesy or decency. You’re a smart reader who is checking reviews so read on and make your own conclusion. I thought the marketplace ad was a private sale? Ironically if they made it clear this was a business advertising I would have been able to go straight down and could have avoided part of the problem... Within hours of the ad posting I was prepared to come see the boat immediately knowing full well that things are moving fast these days. Scott said he couldn’t show me the boat until Tuesday (on a Thursday). However, they went on to take a deposit from someone else who couldn’t come see it until Friday and - then Scott never even called me back! When I am ready to come see it right now - I would consider it ethical to hold the boat or inform me of any alternatives such as placing a deposit - but that was not done. He said “sure thing” that he would contact me on the Tuesday to view the boat - which means it will be available for me to view/purchase on Tuesday. He didn’t call me so I went down Tuesday after lunch and he was gone for the day. His Father Brian, the owner it appears, barely said sorry for the abysmal customer service practices and I had to prompt him to consider what else they could perhaps do for me - like did they have other similar boats? Once we got looking his first question was “Do I need financing” which is “salesman” for “are you worth my time”. Nice opener... After discovering that I’m a cash buyer and that they had nothing else suitable, he took my info. and assured me that he would call me Friday (in case the customer whose deposit they took backed out) “One way or the other” he said “I’m writing it in my book”. I was still upset at the lack of ethics and being vetted to see if I was worthy of their time - but he wrote it in his day planner and I thought they may hold true to their word this time. No call received. Advertising as an individual, not making appropriate arrangements when they are unable to show the product for several days, not calling as promised (first time), poor acknowledgement of their unethical treatment, seeming uninterested in wanting to help me (even for the self serving aspect of getting another sale!?!?), not calling me back again (second time - and after a major customer service gaff)... They clearly have no interest in helping people buy boats. Perhaps they only excel at taking orders for brand new boats ?‍♂️ If you want to target the 5% market then only sell new boats and send the trade ins to auction. I have dealt with businesses who do this and I can completely respect that. The Boathouse chooses to deal in used boats - so they should do it ethically and treat people like they actually want to do business with you. But they don’t... that’s a “sure thing” and you can “write it in your book”

Purchased a boat from Scott and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! He was very knowledgeable and took the time to go over the whole boat and explained how all the systems worked. Service dept girls also very friendly! Thanks for the great experience Boathouse!

I spoke to Scott on Friday afternoon. He gave me the best price I could find for a new Karavan boat trailer. They had it ready as promised on Sat. morning. Even wired my new trailer to match my truck. Great guys, great service! Thanks!

I have had nothing but excellent interaction with service and parts department. I had an issue with my impeller. I phoned Donna on a Tuesday and she was able to source the part and order it for me. I could not get the boat in until the Friday. They had my repair done by Friday afternoon. They also didn’t need to replace all of the parts so instead of replacing anyway just because they did the right thing which cost me less. Amazing service and amazing people. I drive 45 minutes each way to have them service my boat. Awesome!!!!! Scot McNair
