These guys know there stuff. They have never let me down when it comes to pump motors. As an hvac service technician, these guys have recently become my go to.

Misdiagnosed problem after completely disassembling. Stated motor was un repairable because of misdiagnosis. Was simply told unit was unrepairable and need to be replaced. I found another shop on keele he replaced internal wiring, the start and run capacitors load tested in front of me. .

Had a motor that decided to take a break and stop working. I made my way to Bert Thomas and brought in what I figured was a bad start capacitor.. I can't remember the guys name but was very helpful and tested the Capacitor. He comes back and 10 bucks later, a new start capacitor and my motor is back to work. I appreciate the fact that they are not scam artists and made a few honest suggestions. I would reccomend these guys for being honest and friendly. Cheers

Been going to BTE for 5yrs now and it is a pleasure to work with these guys. They stock many motors and various HVAC parts. They have overhauled many pumps and motors for me without issue. Looking forward to keep doing business with this team.

Was extremely disappointed with their lack of customer service. I phoned to inquire if they carried a fan motor for my AC unit. The person on the phone said they had a comparable motor that would work and they would have to modify it for me. He told me to bring my old motor with the fan. When I arrived, another person found the motor for me and he asked me if I had a hack saw and that I would have to cut the shaft. When I explained that ‘the person I spoke to said they would do this for me” another man (perhaps manager), very angrily and very rudely said that the unit could not be returned if they modify and that they do not do that. I reiterated that the person on the phone clearly told me they would modify. This ‘manager’ told me that if it does not end up being the correct motor I could not return it. I told him I was going by their recommendation, and that I came to their shop from downtown Toronto because they said they have the right motor ‘so I do not see why it would be the wrong one‘. When I asked if they would remove the old fan from the old motor for me, the ‘manager’ said they would charge me an extra $20. No empathy what so ever for the customer. This will be the first and last time I get anything from this supply store and I will absolutely not recommend anyone go there. Very sad to treat a customer this way. This ‘manger’ should be retrained on how to treat paying customers and how he should treat his employees. When this ‘manager’ inquired (in a very aggressive manner), from the person I spoke to whether he told me they would modify the motor, the employee was pressured into lying and said he did not say that. His very oppressive attitude placed pressure on the person I spoke to and forced him to lie about telling me they would modify the motor! I prefer to support local businesses rather than big on line stores. However, it is discouraging when people like this contribute to the lack of customer service that we see today. Very sad.

Always supportive and helpful, I always buy motors from here and even most of the time we don’t get all the info from our existing parts or customers but Bert Thomas and especially John help us get the right part. Always a pleasure doing business here. Thanks guys!
