Bert's Automotive Transmissions

I had two great experiences with Bert's in the past, but this last one I was burned. About 10 months ago I paid $4000+ for transmission and front end repairs on my work vehicle. I brought it in to repair a very loud click sound when my automatic transmission shifts gears. It might have been slightly improved initially. But I don't know for certain. Based on my previous experiences with Bert's, and their glowing reputation, I trusted that it was done right. I drove as usual after picking the car up, with my music loud enough to drown out any noise like the clicking. A few months after the repair, for some crazy reason I started driving with my music off! I noticed the loud clicking sound again. So I took it to a different mechanic to inspect the vehicle. He said take it back to Bert's because the repair job was fecal matter. I returned with the vehicle to Bert's, explaining the clicking problem still existed. Both the owner and the original mechanic inspected the car on a hoist. They acknowledged that fluids were leaking in a few places, and offered to repair them. I asked about the clicking sound. The owner said the tire would need to rotate to hear the sound. That it would require putting the vehicle on a different hoist which lifted by the frame, not the wheels. Since a hoist wasn't available at that time, the owner suggested that the original mechanic go on a test drive with me. I drove a few blocks to demonstrate the sound. Which is unmistakable (without music drowning it out). The mechanic assured me that he heard and identified the noise. We then discussed it with the owner, who said it would be dealt with. We booked an appointment. When I picked it up afterwards, the owner was not in so the original mechanic handled the transaction. He told me he repaired the noise by tightening up a few things. It wasn't. The very loud clicking noise still happens on every shift of the gears - after spending thousands. I wouldn't recommend Bert's to anyone.

Bert's Automotive fit me in last minute, and although it took a little longer than expected customer service was 10/10. They even fixed my glove box free of charge. Great experience!

I had a PERFECT experience in Bert’s Automotive Transmissions. I arrived there when they were almost closing, and even though they attended me very nicely! My gear wasn’t working well and they fixed it by the next the at lunch time with an affordable price as well! Very nice staffs and the owner knows a lot! He explained me what was going wrong with my gear and I felt very confident to leave my vehicle there. And now... its perfect! Thank you again! You are the Best!

Was told over the phone by an employee that they could change the brake pads with the spare ones that the dealer gave me. Got there in the morning and the owner said they wouldn't do it because they don't make money on it / warranty. Completely wasted my time. Called up both Midas and Budget Brake straight after walking out and they both said "sure, we'll change it over but obviously there won't be any warranty on them as we didn't sell them". This is the response I would've expected. Sometimes you try and help the little guy but the reality is with the auto industry the bigger players are just better. They're cheaper and just have better service overall. There's a reason why they became franchises in the first place. Bert's is going out of business. I give them 5 years max. Zero sympathy for them.

I brought my work vehicle there today at the recommendation of Fred's Auto on Fraser Street and the service I received today was 5 Stars all the way. My vehicle read a code for a solenoid (something to do with my transmission ) and I can tell you that as a female it isn't often that I Feel confident about what I am being told. The owner ( I am presuming) was patient with me, explained everything in a way I could understand, presented me with options and in the end dropped the transmission pan to see what the cost would be and then charged me nothing in the end. Now I am not giving 5 stars because I was not charged because I would have happily paid (yes happily) but because I felt heard, cared for as a customer and I felt confident that I was told the truth and presented with the best options for me. Not once did I feel pressured to chose one of the services that would have taken money out of my pocket . When I buy my new vehicle I will bring my car in and I will share with everyone I know about the amazing service I received. Thank you for your honesty today and for caring so much about your customers.

I was there could’ve if days ago with my jeep wrangler’ . My four wheel drive got stuck so they fixed it for free . I didn’t know still good people exist in this world . Very respectful team . I think someone can trust these guys. Thanks

Honest mechanic! These gentleman suggested I take my complex diesel job to another shop to save me time and money. Gave me the number to another shop. Who wouldnt apprecaite that kind of honesty? HIGHLY RECOMMEND
