Bar Reyna

Had high expectations and was very excited to go out for dinner with a good friend. Our expectations we met and exceeded! Food was delicious as were the cocktails. The back patio was so adorable. It was quite hot but the server turned the fan to point to us so we were happy! Would definitely recommend and will be back when I'm in the area!

I came across Bar Reyna through blog.to and was immediately tempted to try this place out, and I'm glad I did! Firstly - the staff are amazingly friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu and providing recommendations. I had a narrowed down my order to a few dishes which I was confused on which one to order but our waitress helped to lock in the final decision and she was definitely on point! We tried the: * 'Manchego & Cauliflower Croquettes' - the outside is nice and crispy to where you can hear the 'crunch' when you bite into it, but the centre just oozes with a smooth texture of Cauliflower and cheese. It's warm and welcoming like a hug. * 'Lamb Baklava' - so a lot of people raved about it and I see why. The lamb is tender and the outter part is the crispy 'noodle' like baklava. The aioli on top is perfect and balances the bite * 'Italian Fries' - ok so I am still thinking about these. They are skinnier than shoe string fries but the crispiness, soft centre and deliciousness are all still there in full force! The quantity is much larger than I was expecting too. I'll most likely keep popping back in for these * 'Shawarma Plate's - it isn't your usual shawarma you would find in a plaza in Scarborough but it is still delicious. Since I am not huge on rice I do appreciate the cold veggie sides. The flat bread are nice and small with the perfect char on the outside Ambiance - we dined on the heated patio which was beautifully decorated. I was a bit chilly then again I'm usually cold on the norm so if you're like me bring a shawl to drape over your shoulders (or use your coat) and problem instantly solved. I was worried the table was too tiny but the staff is great at timing the dishes to prevent overcrowding. Having a corner table, we were able to sit on the couch part with the fluffy pillows and it was a totally comfortable and enjoyable dining experience! Overall: I loved the heated patio and menu. I appreciate being able to order some of the plates as a 'per quantity' as it allowed for multiple items to be tried without being overly filled. I will for sure be back to try other items!

Overpriced for the amount of food you're getting; the attached picture is $70 total. That said this is in Yorkville so all prices are a bit higher than average. Everything we ordered tasted good yes, but there was so little of it we left unsatisfied (and we weren't that hungry to begin with). The vibe is awesome however and service was great. I can recommend the Spanish fries, and the Lebanese tacos. Though I won't be going back. All the meat (other than the pork obviously) is actually halal as well so as long as Muslims are comfortable with this place also serving pork and alcohol you can eat here with little restrictions.

Came here for weekend brunch, would love to try their dinner next time. Slight attitude from service which we were put off by at the very end. - baklava French toast (for the sweet tooth mood; not too sweet! which I appreciate) - reyna’s croque madame - salmon board (get this or the croque madame but not both, either way we’re both delicious. The fried capers were an excellent touch) - short rib grilled cheese (my personal fave for trying something different) - lamb shank Benny (delicious however not enough to be filling) - almond milk available for those who wish to order a latte

My gal pals and I went here for a GNO and it was an amazing vibe with incredible service. Our server Izzy was so attentive and made sure we had the best meal and time. She shared great recommendations from the menu and really went the extra mile. The croquettes, octopus, and sangria were BOMB. Can't wait to go back :)

The Baklava French toast looks and for the most part is average but the yellow sauce is actually what makes all the difference. For a savory option I tried the short rib grilled cheese & it hit home. The perfect order when you’re hungry in this cold weather ? I loved the patio - it was definitely my favorite part ? Staff were very friendly & cooperative ?

Really good food. The food took a while to come out though. We tried the short rib grilled cheese which was delicious. The baklava French toast was good as well; just didn’t taste too much like baklava and was a bit dry.

Food/ Service : Pretty good food. Service was decent but could be faster. We came in a party of 15 so it was a fixed menu. I liked that they have halal food available. However the gaps between each dish towards the end took a while. We all arrived around 9:40, by the end it was 12:30. Kinda pricey but it’s Yorkville so it is expected. Fixed menus for parties of 8+ were from $55-75 before tax. Atmosphere: Beautiful interior, however very dark so we had to take out our flashlights to see the food at times. If there was better lighting upstairs, it would have been better. Music was kinda loud and hard to hear each other. Not sure why restaurants have such loud music. But overall great visit, definitely will be back to the King location though. I’ve been to both, and I personally liked that one better.
