Recommend not to shop at St Vital location. Their employees are so rude. They just ruined my whole day

I was paying for some items at Ardenes & the girl still had till open giving me change. She didnt have till closed yet or anything & I simply said "oh sorry, im actually not going to take the shoes" (cause i decided at that point in my wallet i hadnt had enough bills still for what I could afford till pay day) & as shes counting my change shes saying "sorry only by store credit, thats our return policy" I said "im not making a return, im not even done with this transaction" she then closes the till to give me my change & I said "I told you before you closed that till (she still hadnt exchanged me my change) that I wasnt going to take the shoes" she said "well I can only do store credit" i said "im not wanting store credit, Im needing for my money back for the shoes & that im only taking the necklace" she said the transactions already done. The computers wont let me do that!" I said "we werent finished the transactions!" She then took the receipt off the printer & showed it right at my face saying abruptly towards me "this shows the transaction is complete." "I told her yeah after the fact you closed the till, yet after I even told you well before you did close the till that I wasnt going to take the shoes!" She then got all bent out of shape with me, & said "theres nothing I can do but give you store credit" I told her "were simply going in circles here & that I want to speak to the manager " stood up straight to me saying "I am the manager" I then said "can you call the actual store manager, Id like to speak with that person because clearly you & I arent getting anywhere" She made me wait there for close to 20 minutes as another girl was talking on her cell phone, & while shes counting change from another till. She then grabbed a smoke & left with the cell phone talking on it to who Im was the upper store manager. So Im waiting & waiting & I had to get going to my sons Mothers Day party at his day care. And I simply asked the girl how much longer will this take, because I needed to head out to my sons mothers day party, & she said super abruptly towards me "you can go whenever youd like, but if your wanting this addressed to the manager then it does take a bit of a process" I said "this is rediculous already, Ive been standing here for 20 minutes already, Im not knowing whats going on & I seriously think you could have handled this differently & listened to me before you closed the till". She then went at me saying "I work for Ardenes, I dont make the rules for Ardenes, Okay!?" She was just miserable & acting like she hated the world even before she was helping me in the first place. I said to her (and at this point after waiting there over 20 minutes not knowing whats going on, & her seriously belittling with stares & glares at me this whole time as im waiting & telling me the choice is mine to leave or not) And I said, "well if you hate your job so much, go get an education & get a better one" & by this point I swore because im seriosuly feeling really crappy, belittled, embarrassed infront of the whole store & was feeling ganged up on by her & the rest of her coworkers. So the other employee at the other till now shouts at me (while shes in the middle of helping other customers with their transactions) "you know what your actually assulting her" i said assulting her? really you call what I said assult!??" She said "yes your verbally asulting her!" I at that point was seriosuly blown away even more. The the girl who I was dealing with said "yeah your verbally assulting me, telling me to go better educate myself for a better job" I said thats not assult im sorry!" She said "I can call security to have you physically removed" I than was mind blown & said "im not even doing anything. If anything the security guards can help me. She was on the phone getting them to come saying I was "verbally assulting her & wouldnt leave" (well I was wanting to leave as I was asking how much longer it was going to take) But security helped me like I said they would. Actually they were VERY helpful!

Customer service was terrible. One employee in particular was extremely rude when correcting a customer about the sales prices. In truth it was the employee's fault because the specific design of shoes that were being purchased were placed under the wrong section therefore causing confusion when the customer approached the cashier to purchase the two pairs of shoes to find out that the customer cannot get the discount because the two pairs of shoes were not labeled under the same section. When the customer approached another employee asking her why she cannot get the discount when the two pairs of shoes were placed under the same section, the employee explained how there were no longer any room for those specific pairs of shoes therefore they had to place them under another section. The employee at the counter, instead of appropriately listening to the customer, the employee constantly repeated the same rude comments about how there was clearly a divider between the shoes. It has been kept in mind that the mall was close to closing with one hour away from the designated closing time but this is no excuse to yell at the customer in front of the whole store where there were many witnesses. Update: Ardene employees are still rude and as I'm seeing these comments, I'm very surprised that there are so many positive reviews and that this Ardene has 4 stars. It's beyond me.

I went there to exchange my sandals I bought over a week ago, thinking I could find my size ?! NOPE! Store is super disorganized I was on my hands and knees crouched looking for shoes. The manager asked if I needed anything, I told her I was looking for a size 10 in sandals but I can’t find them anywhere. She couldn’t of bothered to help me or maybe look in the back. Instead she said rudely β€œside 6 and 10 are the first to go and summer is almost over!” I started looking at the other β€œnew arrivals” since they just came out that day and the employees were putting them out. Nothing again in my size... and they just came out that day!!!! Everything else in that store is complete garbage that I didn’t want. When I went to the front to advise them that there’s nothing that will fit me the manager gave me a 12$ gift card which is less than the cost of the shoes. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!!! Piece of trash store

Don’t bother going to this location, the customer service is terrible. My friend and I went today, and my friend went and tried on a swimsuit top, and the tag on it came off in the change room. And if you’ve ever been to an Ardene you’ll know half the items there don’t have tags to begin with. She decided not to get it, so we went and put it back then I made my way to the counter to pay for my items. As my friend waited the manager (?) stormed up to her and held the tag in her face, demanding what she did with the bathing suit top. Then said word for word β€œwe can do this the hard way or the easy way.” And threatened to call security. My friend offered to show her the contents of her purse, but the manager aggressively told her to show where the bathing suit top was, so we went and led her to it, and showed her that it was in fact with the rest of the bathing suit tops. Did the manager apologize for her mistake? No, like an immature child she rudely told us to get out of the store, even though we didn’t do anything. Absolutely terrible social skills on the managers part, she should not be in a position where she interacts with customers if she can’t handle a situation like that professionally. Everyone in the store was watching this go down, and I’m embarrassed for that grown woman’s actions. Who acts like that, even when they were proven wrong, like, apologize for the excessive amount of aggressiveness? The funniest part is, we went to the outlet collection mall location and bought the bathing suit there instead, and the tag literally fell off on that one as well, but did the workers there harass us over it? No! And even if we were stealing, why would we take off the paper tag and leave it as evidence? Please put someone in charge who doesn’t have a god complex and harasses customers for NO. REASON. I regret spending my money at that location lol, but lesson learned.

Where is the zero star rating? I have been in the customer service industry for well over 30 years - both front line and management. In all that time, I have never experienced anything worse than my interaction with the Acting Manager last Saturday at the St. Vital Ardene's store. So bad, that I have followed-up with a call to their head office and an email asking for Regional or Executive Management to call to discuss. Shameful that the acting store manager (the front line for the business) thinks she can speak to a customer the way I was spoken to without repercussion. I cannot recommend this store at all and will not return. All this over a request to exchange a top purchased as a Christmas gift in mid-October (still with all tags attached, invoice and did not arrive until November time-frame). The top was purchased online by my daughter for $13.74. A perfectly acceptable and now further price-reduced replacement was shown to us on the rack by this "Manager" -- who refused to complete the exchange once she saw the transaction's date. Apparently no one can buy Christmas gifts at this store prior to Nov 1 and get an exchange or refund post-Christmas, regardless. It did not matter to her that the items did not arrive to us until much later. This "Manager", purposely chose to take a stand and battle, belittle and berate me over my inability to understand policy and how a calendar worked! I asked that she tell me her name, so I could address with her actions with her superior... she then covered her name tag and like a 3 year old said, "I don't have to." She then went on to tell me to leave the store or she would call security and have me removed (?). Ardene ownership, your employee's inability to resolve a simple issue cost you at least 5 return customers from my family... and (hopefully) countless others that I will share this poor experience with. Not the way to build goodwill and stay in business!

It's okay to shop here, obviously it's a hit or miss with product, the sales associates don't really talk to you unless you approach them and you ask for help. They don't really greet you at the door anyways, they kind of just leave you to shop on your own which is fine but if you're seeking help for a certain item be prepared to pick up the courage and ask for it yourself or go hunting for the item you're looking for. Overall, the store is pretty clean considering how big the store is and how much product they have laying around in the floor.
