AR Wright has helped me out in a pinch on numerous occasions. I was thoroughly impressed with how quickly Dave and Nile responded to my emergency call and were able to assess and fix the problem I’ve had with a leaky toilet and shower faucet. My furnace was not firing. My 4 year old has covid, so we are isolating at home. Temperatures are meant to go down to -20 overnight. I called and explained the situation. Within 45 minutes, on a Sunday, I got a call back. They helped me to troubleshoot the problem over the phone and got my furnace running again!

Twenty years ago, someone from AR Wright fixed our furnace for only the call-out fee when another company said it had to be replaced. He also showed us how to clean the igniter to keep it going and we have done that for two decades. The same furnace gave us other problems this year but Wayne replaced some parts and it is working just fine again. Our first call will always be to AR Wright.

Called AR Wright on a Friday to replace the gas valve on my furnace as it was starting to make a loud noise when opening. We scheduled for following Tuesday 2pm to make sure they could get the part. I provided the make/model of the furnace and gas valve. Dave came at 3pm on Tuesday and did not have the part. He found one that would be compatible in his van. After replacing the valve, the furnace would not start. At 415pm Dave left to get another part, but called me from his van about 5 minutes later to inform me the part store would be closed by the time he’d get there. At this time he mentions the furnace is not functioning at all. It is February in Calgary... The furnace was working before he arrived, just made a loud noise when starting. He apologized and said the valve was only half the problem, the flame sensor was also broken, another person would come to fix it 9am the next day. When I went to look at the furnace it was disassembled. I spent most of the evening putting it back together and was somehow able to get heat back on. It appeared the flame sensor wire was yanked on when the gas valve was installed as it was out of position and therefore not opening the valve. The ceramic collar of the flame sensor was cracked when it was yanked out. I will be replacing it ($30 part). Called Terrina in the morning to express my disappointment with the service and to ask that they drop off the flame sensor and not touch the furnace. She was very understanding and referred me to Wayne. At 9am Neil came with a pilot assembly (the wrong part) and left. Later that day Wayne called and agreed to look at the invoice and make an adjustment based on what happened. The next day I got a full invoice for Dave, Dispatch fee, gas valve, Neil and the pilot assembly. I assumed this was like an automated invoice so I just waited to hear from Wayne. A week later I get a reminder email to pay the full invoice so I replied to it saying what I discussed with Wayne and that I’m waiting to hear from him. Wayne responded a couple days later requesting I pay for the gas valve and pilot assembly. I am fine to pay the cost of the gas valve and offered to return the pilot assembly as that was the wrong part. MEANWHILE, it also turns out Dave didn’t tighten the pilot gas line and was leaking gas smell into my house for a couple days before I noticed it was not even hand tight. Just a total disaster...

My furnace stopped working, Called A.R. Wright to come look at it. Wayne came and diagnosed the problem, checked for parts, gave me a quote and then picked up the parts and got the furnace running again. It would of been a very chilly night. They were very friendly, honest, professional, prompt, knowledgeable and completed in a quick timely fashion with no mess left to clean up. I would highly recommend this company for any heating or plumbing issues.

Wayne showed tremendous perseverance with sorting out a series of somewhat confounding problems with our awkward-to-get-at furnace, and was always pleasant and responsive despite the frustrating situation requiring repeat visits that must have interfered with his schedule. He did not abandon us when the problems were difficult nor try to sell us a new furnace. He did discuss with others including contacting the manufacturer to see if they could help. - Susan B

My heat exchanger went on a high efficiency furnace that was 10 years old. I was told it would be cheaper to replace the furnace by another company to the tune of 5 to 6 grand. Wayne had look and was able to get warranty on the heat exchanger, install it the next day and tune up the furnace for less than a grand. Even without warranty it would have been significantly cheaper to fix the furnace. Awesome all around.
