Alcona Animal Hospital

These guys have been with us for generations of pets. We've had many animals in our time, and gone to dozens of vets and few compare. They helped us out quite a bit with our chronically ill cat, Abigail, for years. When she finally passed they cried with us. Same when our old lab Buddy passed. They have consistently provided excellent care to every single anime we have brought in to them, which at this point is over 5.

I've held off writing a review but after being a shocked , but not surprised, of how unprofessional this clinic is. I am sure not all the veterinarians in this clinic are all the same but Dr Neilan and some staff's ability to be accountable is questionable For 3 years there has been Constant mistakes made. Majority food orders , if they ever place them. November 2021 I called and asked if my pets food was in as it been 2 weeks since ordered , staff says no. As I'm driving 40 minutes out of town to pickup somewhere else ( not first time either ) I receive a call as I'm half way there " oh I found it ". Same food for 3 years and not only once but twice have been given wrong food. Mistakes happen, this is easy fix , , just felt I should be able to trust The professionalism of a veterinarian Enough is enough when it came to my pets life relying medication, continuously making mistakes and lying to cover up Told it be 5-7 days to get in which makes sense I never really question when it was there the very next day but in a bottle that was not from a veterinarian compound Summit. Over the year so many misleading stories to why it was in stock , they mixed it there and then , on No we have to order it I placed an order October 2021, there next day , IN ONE OF THEIR BOTTLES ?? Didn't think hard on it until it started to stink bad !! The smell was horrible. This bottle was to do my pet until January 2022 but it smelled off I ordered another in December, 1 month early and $70 wasted !!! Well guess what ? "That" bottle I ordered in October was this bottle and Alcona veterinarian clinic placed a label over the the October date and dated it December. Seriously ? I'm assuming this was my pets original order 90 days prior And where it has been sitting or stored I have no idea because it also stink and was foul When I reached out to the owner and my pets veterinarian, Dr Neilans , he was arrogant and defended all his staffs irresponsible actions He did not let me get 1 word in at all. I did not get an answer why I received the medication I ordered in October in December and so what or who's did I get in October ? I had previous to this a call and was told the special food order had come in . When I asked if I could pick up the rest of my pets food order, I was told it is not there. Why he would put his pride and ego before the health of a pet is something I question. Needless to say there is a constant staff turnover I'm sure there are good Veterinarians that work in this practice , His ethics I question.

The best vet around. They take the time to make my dogs feel comfortable and give you option for care. You dont feel pressured to do anything and actually understand what is happening. Super friendly staff too!

I took my cat here for a general checkup and her spay shortly after. The staff at Alcona Animal Hospital are amazing, they really care about the animals they’re looking after! They’ve got lots of lovely people working for them and a beautiful, new and up to date facility! Will be returning for the rest of my animals!

Simply the best vet around. I usually deal with Dr. Neilan or Dr. Devito but everyone there is great. Very caring and extremely professional. I also like the layout, lots of parking at the back and a big waiting area. Wouldn't take my pets anywhere else.

Great vets and staff. Totally trust these professionals and their fees are reasonable given the services they provide. Highly recommend them to take care of your fur babies.

I've been taking my animals to this vet for years and Dr. Neilan has always been amazing and kind. If your in the Innisfil or surrounding area I'd highly recommend this place. I still make the trip after moving to Vaughan because they're so reliable and I can tell the staff deeply cares for the animals.
