We took our dog Lucy there after she cut herself, and by cut I mean she cut her whole side open. The staff at 24hr Vet Clinic were amazing from day one. Due to the severity of the cut they had to remove damaged skin which made it pretty much impossible to stitch. We did try but ended up having to go another route. We basically had to let her cut heal from the inside out. Everyone was so flexible with our schedule, we had to go for bandage changes every 2-3 days at the beginning sometimes twice a day if she was able to rip her bandage off the staff always got us in. It was a long journey but as of this week we can now clean her cut from home. We just wanted to say thank you all for being so accommodating and treating Lucy so good, she’s already missing her car rides and treats from you all!! Thanks again!!

I'm not sure why this clinic has such a low rating. I had an excellent experience here. I had gone to a different higher rated vet clinic where I found the vet didn't really listen to my concern with the massive doses of steroids my cat was being given for an allergic reaction/ear infection. In the end the steroids caused a lot of issues including a skin condition that caused a significant portion of her hair to fall out. They couldn't see me short notice and I was told to go to this clinic instead. What a blessing in disguise that was! My experience could not have been better. Dr Brassard listened to what I was saying and made a plan (which worked) to sort things out . The doctor I saw today for my cats follow up was also really great. Would definitely recommend this clinic.

I called the clinic to get their advice for my pug that had eaten some fallen dental floss. They spoke with the team and advised to induce vomiting as it had just happened and there are concerns with dogs eating strings and it getting tangled in his system. I brought him in and they immediately cared for him and provided me an update that the floss was removed from his system. You do pre-pay for services on arrival, but they reimbursed some due to not needing as much medication, so please note it is not all about the money (as I have seen multiple reviews stating) and they do genuinely care for your pet. They offered to send the notes to my primary clinic, and offered support in my pet insurance (I didn’t need it but was thankful for the offer). It was disheartening to see so many negative reviews when to me it was apparent that everyone was doing their best!

I recently took my cat to the 24 hour clinic and had a horrible experience. I should start by saying that I took him there because my previous experience with this clinic was excellent. I can now tell you that the reason the care at this clinic is either 5 star or 1 star is completely based on which vet is on duty. My previous visit was with Dr. Acuna, and I can’t say enough about how good he was with my pet. He was patient, kind, extremely intelligent, and he truly cared about the outcome. This time I had Dr. Ashley Eastman and I was appalled. It was completely the opposite experience. She was not really willing to answer my questions, she didn’t fully examine my pet, and didn’t have any opinion about what might be wrong unless I did $800 worth of tests. She was rough with him when she transported his cat carrier back into the exam room and rolled her eyes at my suggestion that maybe I hold him so she could finish the exam properly. Before I left the clinic – even though she had no opinion on what was possibly wrong – she had me sign a disclaimer that said if my cat died tonight it wasn’t her fault. Thankfully, the support staff in the clinic were exceptionally kind and helpful because I was very upset. FYI - I took my pet to the Animal Clinic on Saskatchewan drive the next morning and Dr. Sawa diagnosed him within 20 minutes. She did so without any of the tests suggested by Dr. Eastman.

Negative stars deserved. Where do I start? Refusing to give me prices before I sign in, 'I could not do a complete exam' 'where else are you going to go? We are the only place open!" Limiting access to us and our pet, and when informed that we're going somewhere else they call animal protection. This could easily be interpreted as extortion. After explaining this, I was denied a case number from animal protection. I got the medical treatment for the animal at about 40% of the cost they wanted. The other vet didn't get bit trying to examine either. Trust your dog's intuition. They know who cares and who are trying to maximize profit. Feel free to contact me if you're interested in suing this company, I would love to help.

Our Berner had been throwing up, was shaking, crying, and seemed like he was getting bursts of pain. It was 9pm, so called this vet clinic to see if they could help, as our normal vet clinic was closed. The person on the phone was very helpful, very empathetic, and kind. She could hear my dog crying in the background and gave us some options of when we could come in. We chose to take him asap. My husband drove our dog there and said the experience from the time he pulled up to the time he left was really great. He was home within 2 hours. I'd like to give 4.5 stars just because my husband was asked to wait in the waiting area. From my understanding, the owners don't go into the exam room with their pet. I'm not a fan of this, but our dog received great care so 5 stars from us. We would use this place again in an emergency situation. Thanks for being so caring!

We have had our kitten since May of 2021 and we came here for our vaccines and neuter. No issues with that, although after doing research (months later unfortunately) I definitely feel as if we overpaid for the services received compared to other clinics. Also, the reviews here are awful. Our most recent visit was an emergency visit. Our kitten had jumped onto the hot stove top and burnt his front paws. The office wasn’t able to see us for four hours but they had us limit his food intake in the meantime (he randomly threw up twice after the incident) and run his paws under cold water. Once we arrived, they were going to charge us $400 to sedate him (as he was being too aggressive with the vets, which he has never done in the past) and to do x-rays to see if there was any fractures in his paws. I only allowed the clinic to do the sedation as I was extremely worried about infections (his one paw was secreting fluids when we brought him in). I knew the distance he had jumped wouldn’t have been enough to actually fracture his paw and he would allow me to hold and move his paw around and would only wince in pain once the paw PAD was touched. After I paid for the sedation, the clinic took over two hours to provide me with an update. Once I was able to come back in they told me he was absolutely fine and the most they could do was to provide some pain medications (pills, which my cat refuses to digest). I declined the pain meds as they ensured me my cat was okay, so I figured there would be no need for them at the time. They also didn’t even bother to wrap his paws at all. We got home and within 12 hours his paw pads started peeling, were extremely red (close to bleeding) and began secreting clear fluids again. He was also limping and visibly in pain. All the clinic offered was to have him brought in again, likely sedate him (again, as he was showing aggression the day before) and wrap his paws, which I wasn’t paying them for that. I understand that things happen and may be missed. But I am extremely dissatisfied with the vets approach to the situation. Four hours after the incident (and two more with my sedated kitten) they determined and ENSURED ME he was absolutely okay. I don’t see how after 6 hours, there is absolutely no sign of any burn. We are 1000% switching vets after this experience. I wish this clinic was more affordable and didn’t create such urgency for services that aren’t necessarily needed. Also, why aren’t your vets trained to wrap a burn site????? I expect my pets get the same treatment that I would get from a medical clinic.

My dog cut her leg open on a barbwire fence pretty good on Victoria day. Unfortunately for us, this was the only Animal Clinic open that we could find. When you call there, the answering machine suggests its an emergency room service, and to just come in. We live an hour away, so we drive into the city. We arrived at 10:30am, I carried my dog inside as her she couldn't walk due to the pain. The reception indicated that they were by appointment only, which and told us to come back at 1:30pm. I asked if they could help me wrap my dogs leg while we wait, as it was gaping open, they would not. However, allowed me to purchase a cone and a nice lady did help me put it on. We waited our turn for three hours and came back for 1:30pm. The receptionist (who was much younger than me) kept calling me "hun" and "my dear" which was weird and made me uncomfortable. We were taken into the room, and an even younger girl came in to weigh my dog, vitals, etc. Which was fine. After another wait the vet came into the room. She hardly even LOOKED at my dogs leg, had zero empathy and said "I will write up a estimate" and left the room. She was in there 30 seconds tops!! After a while longer yet ANOTHER lady came in and handed me a estimate for $2000.00!!!! I burst into tears as I could not afford to pay this outrageous amount for my dog to have stitches. The lady stood there looking at me for a second then awkwardly left the room without explaining anything on the estimate to me, what my dog needed to have done, etc. a while later she came back in and handed me a bill for $200.00 and told me the ladies would help me up front and left. I was so angry and could not believe my eyes how they treated us so hostile/ didn't even care that my dog was cut that badly. I asked them if they could at least help me wrap my dogs leg because again, it was gaping open and sore and exposed to infection, etc. She told me nope that would require shaving it and going with the estimate that was provided. Left there with my dog unattended to, and paid $200.00 for literally NOTHING!!!!!! ** The next day i took my dog to the vet on Sask drive, they were welcoming, loving, accommodating, kind, and fixed her up for $350.00!!**. I would give this clinic ZERO stars but it wont let me, so it gets a one. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They should be ashamed of the people they have working there. How could you be a vet with no empathy or remorse for animals !!! UNREAL!!
