Total lack of desire to understand personal situation, unwillingness to help because policy is above everything there...

I had nothing good to say about this Case worker! Was in and out by 20min ( I waited longer than that) he always put me down and didn't care about anything I had to say.Talk about a waste of time money, but NOT for him. I'm NOT the type of guy to complain about anything or anyone as we all have our own problem and battles but this guy like got hes jolly's up when you told him a problem! I tell you this guy was something else. So needless to say I stopped going to him. So after about half a year or so I received a phone call from a NEW Manager that had a apology for the way i was teated and there old stuff and even wanted to know details about my old appointments. She promised me that things will be different with her there now and for me to give them other chance! She eve gave me her number if i have problems again. So lets just hope that the one bad Apple out of the bunch didn't get the rest rotten! As for now I have to rate this Poor because thats the Quality of Service I got from them last year, Lets hope This year It'll be alot better! I'll post if they don't help me out again and I'll vote them a Excellent Quality If they help me!

I have had nothing but fantastic experiences with midwives through three pregnancies and with doctors and nurse practitioners for myself and my kids. Allotted time for appointments must be quite long, because nothing ever feels rushed and yet we are always seen on time. Impressive clinic.

taken me a few years to get accepted with Access, but I am thoroughly impressed so far - the Dr assigned to my sons and myself is very compassionate, we're not made to feel like just another file/case in front of her - well well impressed! Even the reception ladies are good; have always been friendly, chatty My only wish is that they had a dentist there like they do at the Main St. location they seem to have everything else.

While I lived in Winnipeg I had two different Dr.’s (Dr. Nyhof and Dr.Duprat) whom I was, both, diagnosed and treated for my Type 2 Diabetes. When I was initially diagnosed I asked how many grams of carbs should I eat (I knew nothing about diabetes) and I was told ‘oh don’t worry about that’. Well I tried my best to eat fewer carbs. After I would have my AC1 blood work done the Dr. would say ‘Your numbers aren’t good.’ and look at me as if I was doing something wrong. Now I will always admit if I’m eating junk food but I wasn’t. As I’ve moved to a different province I’m working with a new Dr. who although diabetes isn’t his area of expertise is wonderful. I have now been diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic and because I was only on insulin once a day of course my blood sugar levels were bad. I have also discovered on my own that caffeine can raise blood sugar levels in diabetics. Neither Dr. Nyhof nor Dr. Duprat EVER asked me to write down what I was eating and to keep a log of it. Neither of them EVER explained that eating too few carbs can/ will cause a diabetics liver to release glucogen (glucose) in response and to keep blood sugar levels from falling too low. Even the diabetic dietitian was pitiful (I’m sorry to say) and the ONLY thing that she ever said to me was to eat more fibre. When I explained that I was using coconut flour in the bit (very little baking) baking I was doing she said ‘What’s coconut flour?’. My gosh she was about 28 years old and had a degree as a dietitian and she didn’t know what coconut flour was?! So I explained it to her. What I find do infuriating is either of those Dr.’s could have asked me what I was eating (keep a log of it) and then checked it out. From that they then could have requested that when I had my blood work done that I have the Anti-Gad 65 test which determines whether or not a person is a Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetic but they didn’t! So now instead of being on (a sliding scale of insulin) with every meal I was instead treated with a ‘dinosaur’ of insulin, Novolin NPH for 14 years instead of (relatively) newer insulins that are more effective. As well when I initially was put on the Novolin I was taught to do a flipping back and forth in a large arc motion to move the insulin inside the pen instead of rolling the vial in between my hands by the diabetic nurse. This is VERY important because if you don’t do it this way fibres of the insulin can adhere to the walls of the vial and then you don’t get enough of the active ingredient and therefore not a correct dosage. All’s I can say is shame on those two Dr.’s for being so lazy and irresponsible with my health!

Dr Ratna gave my Aunt exceptional care over the years and especially in end of life care. I will always be thankful for the exceptional care and concern he showed my Aunt.
