★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very busy, but the hostess sat us quickly. Milkshakes were delicious as always, but the food portions were a little disappointing compared to the price increases. It was very loud because there isn’t much sound proofing, but that may not be a problem for everyone.

Coleslaw and sliver of dill pickle was very skimpy; edge of plate was grey from stacking (old dishware) and appeared soiled but it wasn't. The Tabasco sauce bottle was not clean as shown in photo. Highly displeased with my dinner. Spoke to the server and he apologized and that was extent of it. No one came to speak to me regarding my dissatisfaction with my order. If you are considering this place, please beware.

Note, sometimes when the restaurant is full, the delivery of the order may be delayed.
In any case, the portions are delicious, large and satisfying. Having breakfast in this place, you can safely walk until the evening without feeling hungry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Zak's diner was exactly what I had expected in a diner. Quick breakfast, and hot coffee... And went you're woken up before dawn by your kids, that's what you want!
Service was excellent. Server came by often to top up coffee and check on us. Food was good. We got the kids chocolate chip pancakes, which came with 4 pancakes. An order of home fries. And a traditional egg breakfast. We'd come back

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered breakfast at Zak’s Kanata today and the takeout container’s paper dye was all over my eggs (see pictures). I went back and told them about it and the person said they have never seen this before and offered me a gift card. I have been to Zak’s before and I like their food but I advice folks getting takeouts to be extra careful and not eat toxic food.
I advice the owner to take corrective action on this issue.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decided to have an early dinner here, ordered a chocolate milkshake and the mac and cheese burger and fries. The milkshake was good , but was it worth $7.99 + tax, maybe not and a little over priced . The Mac and cheese burger was really good. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the un ripe tomatoes they served. If you can not buy tomatoes that are ripe and red, then you shouldn't be serving them. To me they are just garbage and not good to eat. Especially on a burger your charging $18.49 for. I also didn't enjoy the fries they served and I found them on the cheap side. Would I go here again, most likely not, you defiantly don't get good value for the money you pay. The atmosphere is nice, as well as the staff, the food over priced

It was my first time, and I just loved the food and the ambiance.
The staff was so nice and helpful. She gave us an extra Mint Chocolate shake. Thank you!
The place was clean.
Will be coming back again soon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a wonderful experience at this location. Staff was great and the portions are insane, amazi g value for the price. The waiter even offered to cut up a gummy worm for my son's ice cream, above and beyond. One of my favourite Zak's.
