One of the best places to camp, hands down! We camped at this place for 4 days in early September. Place is about 2.5 hours from Nanaimo and once you’re there, you would still have to drive from the highway onto the parking lot. Once you arrive, all you’ll hear is the sound of the ocean. From the parking lot, it was about a 3 minute walk to our campsite. The price was absolutely reasonable, for $99/night per oceanside campsite. It’s worth it. They have strict guidelines on how you should put away anything that has a scent, just store everything in the food caches, if you follow the rules and be diligent, you should be good. Place is 10minutes away from Ucluelet. A great place for camping!

2 kms of deep pot holes on a narrow road gets you into this off-grid campground. We should never have taken our trailer into it. But we did for one night. Since it's called a "RESORT" on their website we didn't investigate it any further. We paid our $114 thinking it had everything. It didn't!! In fact it provides NO Services. We've been to regional parks where we've paid $12 for the same thing. With a wheel alignment behind us and these dark memories, we'll not be going back. Word of advice: do some research on this place before giving up your $114 or you may be very disappointed.

The good: We had an oceanfront walk-in campsite and the view was stunning. Our friendly camp hostess met us upon arrival. The bad: The access road is awful - lots of potholes. Parking is confusing and inconvenient. There’s a significant amount of schlepping belongings to and fro either to store them in the car or bear cache - mice in the bear cache pilfered thru our belongings so we had to toss a few items. No potable water. The 4 pm check-in / 10 am check-out times were the worst we encountered amongst the five campgrounds we stayed at. Can’t believe we paid $114 for one night.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT. The roads were very difficult and access for an RV was very very tricky. It was NOT stated on their website and we struggled a lot doing the back and fourth everyday to access the Campground. It was very stressful for our driver and it was taking us more than 30min to drive from the entrance of the campground till our campsite because of state of the road (giant potholes everywhere). We reported the situation the first day and they told us that they understood our issue and felt sorry for us, they told us that they were supposed to have a contractor that never showed up. We have decided to not go back the last night because it was too much stress for us and we explained it to them, we send them pictures and they said that they were aware of the situation. We asked for a refund for that last night as we were not able to go back due to the road state. They denied our request even knowing that there road was not accessible and they didn’t maintain it. That campground is very expensive for an RV with an access that is very rough, stressful and dangerous.

The cabins themselves and the beach location are absolutely beautiful. Thats where it ends. The kitchens are completely under stocked. There are zero serving dishes, cooking items, minimal cups, plates and utensils, and they were also dirty on arrival. The floors were covered in sand and dog hair we had to sweep before even unpacking. The couch was so covered in fur we had to put a blanket over it. Considering you are paying around 450 dollars a night when you include the "cleaning fee" I would not stay there again.

Great location. A little pricy. But the magnificent view worth the penny. Highly recommended.

I don't recommend these sites given the cost. They are freezing cold due to their proximity to the ocean, but definitely beautiful. The hosts are militant about parking to the point that we felt unwelcome. Forget about spontaneously inviting guests to your site for dinner or to the beach. There is no potable water. Overall I think it is well suited for a quiet family with money to burn. For a younger crowd, stick to the recreation sites.

Way Point is a place that I have stayed at in the past multiple times and unfortunately, this year will be the last. While booking this year’s trip for my family, there were multiple website errors when I went in to book the second (of two) sites that we needed for our family trip. There were 3 RV sites available at the time, including the one I was choosing. I received an error message saying I had to go back to choose another site. When I went back to book another and received another error message when choosing it. Going back again a second time, all the sites appeared to be booked so I was unable to book a site during my required dates. At this point, I already had a tent site booked for half the family and now could no longer get another site so I had to go in and choose other dates to book. Now we were left with a campsite we are unable to use and due to their completely absurd 50% cancellation policy and their system errors, we will now be out $291. I choose new dates and booked two new sites. Now we had three sites on two separate dates. This all happened within 15 minutes which seems crazy that they don’t have a full refund policy within a certain timeframe, or due to THEIR system issues. A half hour later I went back to look at our booking and decided to check on the sites on the first set of dates and ALL the sites that appeared available to begin, but then were “booked” when I went to choose them were all back to being available. I immediately contacted the Way Point to make them aware of the system errors and to hopefully get refunded due to this being a problem with their system and not the user. Once I eventually received a reply they were extremely unhelpful, had some of the worst service I’ve experienced, and stopped replying once I asked to cancel the first campsite. To make it worse, their campsite increased the pricing by $40 a night this year, making it $139 a night (and we need two sites) which is hands down the most expensive campsite we’ve ever stayed at. May as well rent a house on/near the beach in Tofino where you get a lot more for your money. We will not be returning after this years trip which we are now obligated to go to due to their horrific refund policy and will NOT recommended this campsite for friends or family anymore. Hopefully they figure out some new system and courteous, helpful staff. DO NOT BOOK if you receive any system issues or, if there’s ANY chance you may have to cancel. Also, the original dates we wanted were June 29 – July 3 but the site doesn’t allow you to book between July 1 – August 31 of less than four nights, even though it was four consecutive nights but two were at the end of June so we had to change our dates before I even began booking. To conclude, they do not offer a full refund from the moment you submit your payment, big system issues on their booking site, and they had horrible customer service which made it not worth it. * I never write reviews but this experience was bad enough that it should be known so future campers don’t get duped by them, their system issues, and their tragic cancellation policy.
