Point West Cottages

We wanted a relaxing weekend in Ucluelet, and we got that staying here. The Osprey was clean and the kitchen had all the essentials. There was more then enough towels for showering and using the hot tub. The hot tub was very clean, and had an amazing view of the inlet. You could not actually access the ocean from the cottages, but we were a 5 minute drive to a number of amazing beaches and trails.

The design, the view, and the hot tubs were all nice. Our family booked the main cabin, and we booked the one on the right down the hill for our wedding. While the cabins were lovely, the owners were not. On the morning of our wedding, we had Gary literally yelling at our groomsman that he was rude and inconsiderate for having parked an additional car at our cabin to unload, rather than carrying supplies down the gravel hill by hand. This was while we were doing wedding photos. They then got after us again later about it. And then emailed me. And then complained to our other guests about it. Any time a car came in, they checked to make sure we weren't even thinking about driving it down the hill. They were frankly unpleasant to us the entire time we were there, to the point that we felt it necessary to take pictures when we left to prove we had cleaned up. (They told us, repeatedly, that everything had to be in *exactly* the state it was when we arrived.) We couldn't relax there at all. The bed in the cabin was like a board - I've never slept in a bed that uncomfortable, and I've willingly slept on futons. And like others have said, the wifi was flaky - which was important for us, as half the folks were from outside of Canada, and needed it. We're not partiers, we're not loud - we barely even had music on - we're seriously all nice, chill, lovely folks. It would have been ridiculously easy to just not be jerks. They certainly didn't seem comfortable at all with having a group with a lot of queer/trans folks. Never even bothered to congratulate us on the wedding. Basically... there are pretty cabins and campsites everywhere around there where you can relax and enjoy this beautiful area. We were very glad to be camping at Green Point the following night. It was so relaxing, and such a relief.

The owners are friendly, wonderful people who do their absolute best to take care of you - they took care of my fiance and I upon our arrival in blackout storm conditions. We will 100% be back. We also loved the hot tub on the side of our cabin.

A rustic cabin with a great hot tub and extremely private. The set up of the cabins provided a feeling that you were all by yourself with an incredible view of the bay. The service was awesome and they have thought of just about everything. I felt it was a great accommodation for the price. Definitely want to return.

After reaching out to Tofino tourism to find places to stay for a weekend in July, they forwarded our information to the owners. The owners then reached out to us with a quote and offer to book with them for the 2 nights we needed! After going through the process of inquiring/ booking, planning our visit to Tofino around this booking. The owners emailed us saying the dates we needed were no longer available...but they had reached out to us in the first place? They claimed that another guests card information for this booking did not go through so therefore now it was unavailable, this made no sense to us. After going back and forth with the owners, they offered it to us AGAIN, but they required us to stay longer and refused to let us book if we didn’t stay a minimum of 3 nights. Their website did not mention this, they did not mention this when they first agreed the 2 nights with us. They later stopped replying to our emails and left us with the bills of multiple activities we had planned in the area around the booking. Trust the past poor reviews about these owners!! Their customer service is horrendous, and they are just in it for the money. Their interactions with guests proves that, we will make sure none of our friends/family/associates gives this place business.

Took our trip to Vancouver Island and landed on this spot. We chose the Hilltop Cottage. The pictures don’t fully justify how great this place actually is! The cottage is more roomy than the pictures feel! With that a beautiful private deck and perfect hot tub for 2 people to relax. Beautiful mountain views. Lots of fog in the mornings but it really plays a cool view as well. Penne was a nice and respectable host, plenty of towels, shampoo, soap, and coffee to use. Definitely a place worth staying if visiting Ucluelet and Tofino

Been here twice in the last several years and it never fails to impress. Love the local scene in Ucluelet and Tofino, (though Tofino is becoming more and more like Whistler on the coast) and the hosts at Point West are most gracious, nice and very helpful if you ever need anything. Was nice and quiet off the highway and still close enough to things to do around town.

Awesome place to stay. We were lucky enough to enjoy some stormy/snowy weather in the very private outdoor hot tub.
