About Winding River Campground

We have 12.5 acres of land that has been preserved in a more natural state. We have 59 campsites, the majority of which are ideal for tents or tent trailers. Hydro and water are available. We also have a limited number of full hook up sites for Rv units and we welcome Seasonal's.

We are an environmentally friendly campground using Solar energy to preheat water for showers and pool filling. We also have a recycling depot.

On site, our store is stocked with firewood, ice, grocery items, souvenirs, toiletries, snacks and camping supplies. We also rent canoes.

My family and I have been taking camping trips to Sauble since I was 5 (20 years ago) and this is the first time we chose a private family run campground. We had a pleasantly surprising experience! The sites were huge (we had family sites)! The noise from other campers was kept to a minimum (someone decided to play music for the entire campground... that ended quickly). Only thing we didn’t love was paying for the showers, $1 gets you 5 minutes of shower time. We would have expected those to be included in the rate of the camp site... other than that, great experience! My little puppy even made a friend! (The owners have a small German Shepard Puppy).

They called the police as well simply for us to he told we were okay and to have a nice night. Your rating is absolutely deserved and i dont reccomend anybody camp here unless they want the owners to pop out of the bushes with flashlights. True story

We loved the camp site and the amenities provided were amazing with clean washrooms and showers also a volley ball court with sand and a pool. This place was perfect for us! Angela and her husband were fantastic as well. We will deffinately be back #73 Thanx angel we will return and can't wait
W	Weird Girl on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a lovely, family oriented place, the owners do a great job of keeping everything nice and tidy. The office has weird hours but it's totally understandable considering it's just a couple running the place and you can always get help if you really need it anyway. The Covid protocols, extra sanitation and overall friendly nature of the owners makes it feel like they really care about their customers. Us and other groups played music at a reasonable volume right up until 11pm without any complaints and after that quiet hour kicks in, making for a dark, peaceful night. Clean bathrooms and coin-operated showers, nice pool, open grass space and a sand volleyball court. Close to Sauble Beach but far enough that it was quiet. Lots of bugs (mosquitoes, spiders, bees/wasps, etc.) but it's beside a river so that's expected. Water from the taps is a bit smelly but again, not unexpected and completely fine. Great prices for camping, average prices for firewood (huge pieces though so that's really nice), and ice. There is a non-refundable deposit but they were absolute amazing about allowing us to reschedule our reservation. Overall it was a great experience, we will definitely go back again if we want to camp at Sauble Beach . A huge thanks to the owners!

Only reason I took a star off was because you cant walk to the beach, short 2 minute drive is required. . In the end you have a clean washrooms, showers, and a nice pool. Would come again.
R	Rama Isaac on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For those interested to camp over a weekend to hike some of the Sydenham section of the Bruce Trail, this one is on the west side of the peninsula and between 20-25mins drive to most of the Sydenham section. We enjoyed it as the campground itself is just 7 mins away from Sauble Beach, so we could avoid being in the middle of it all, but still get to see the area, get food, walk by the beach and swim (so good after a long hike) and get some sundae ?

It was are first family camping trip and our two sons had so much fun for their first experience. My youngest son especially liked seeing the owners drive around the campground in the golf cart to ensure everything was in order and he always made sure to wave hi everytime he saw them. Keep up the great work and we hope we can stay again next year.
