About Whimsical Cake Studio
Our Story
In the beginning of 2014 ownership and almost everything else about Whimsical cake studio changed. Darcy Scott aka. The Infinite Yums, purchased the studio and started to make the products she has always dreamed about making for people. Being a journeyman, red seal baker and bringing other bakers and artists together they created a new Whimsical. One based on scratch baking, supporting local, quality ingredients, and her take on the products that will make your mouth water. She got her start in professional baking well over a decade ago developing her famous bacon caramels and vanilla velvet recipes, and has created many more amazing combinations since she took control. From her Infinite Yums blog and happy mouths around the city she launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the money to help with the purchase the bakery. A dream come true, to make peoples celebrations special and memorable. Darcy brings her love for amazing baking, coupled with her unique retro/antique/nerdy style, to everything at Whimsical. Darcy’s greatest pleasure is to see the smiles and excited faces when she presents her works of edible art to the customers. Late in 2018, it became clear the shop needed to make another move, so the crew packed up and moved down Whyte Ave, to their forever home, happily hanging with all our new friends in what they like to call the Icing District! Darcy and Whimsical are here to stay, and looking forward to making the most memorable treats for all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered dinosaur cookies for my sons 2nd birthday, they were delicious! Got lots of compliments from guests about how chocolatey and tasty they were, and they fit our theme perfectly!
They are quick to respond via email, and very nice when you go in for pickup! I'm pleased ?

The cake itself was good too; it had good flavour and was not too dry or dense.
The ladies at the bakery were quite friendly too!
Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to friends/family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Grabbed a couple cake balls and freeze dried skittles. The cake balls are super super sweet. We got banana cake with strawberry filling, and vanilla cake with cookie dough filling. We probably only needed one to share. The freeze dried skittles were not really that special. They had a lot of freeze dried things there for some reason.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Whimsical Cake Studio was amazing!! We had an issue with another cake studio leaving us with the shortest notice possible to not be able to do our wedding cake. We went into Whimsical Cake Studio on a Sunday, and they were able to make our cake dreams come true for our wedding with pick up on friday morning!! They were honest about being busy and what they could and could not do, which I appreciated. But the cake turned out 100% amazing!! The flavor of the cake was vanilla velvet, and peanut butter icing. It was super yummy, plus looked awesome!!
If anyone is looking for a custom cake in Edmonton, I would 100% recommend the Whimsical Cake Studio, I feel like they could do any cake you wanted!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Darcy and her team are extremely talented. I discussed with her the the creation of a very intricate Winnie the pooh cake. My girl ended up loving her cake so thank you very much Darcy.
She is also very fair to deal with when mishap's happen and in guidance whether she gets the business or not. A very honest and fair baker who can execute detail.
