★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hotel has continental breakfast, toast, fruit, yogurt and coffee. Location is good you can see it upon entering Carnduff. It is one street over from highway. Rooms are clean and big. The rooms all come with microwave, fridge, dishwasher, stovetop and toaster. The rooms also have TV and blow dryer. Service is good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Looked good at first, large room, modern furnishings...but then I noticed all 4 pillows were either a light brown or had stains on them. Co-workers room still had empty bottles in the cupboards, someone's protein canister and a dirty disposable glove in a drawer. So why stay....there are unfortunately not many options out here, but if you have a choice, look around or drive a few extra minutes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ With the drop is oil, what was once a place you had a hard time getting a room at is now mostly vacant, but that's great for those of us who travel for business. The Western Star has full suites, complete stove dishwasher and full size fridge! Host is exceptional and pleasant, always there to help when asked. I really enjoyed my stay!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are well kept and clean. Breakfast items are mostly fresh, but other condiments aren't stocked up regularly as they run out. Great location and would definitely recommend for long term stays as the kitchenettes in the rooms are well equipped.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2 stars might be little high but it in reality it’s a 1.5. Hotel does have potential but no one seems to care. If there were other options available I don’t think they would get any customers. Upon arrival you can smell raw sewage smell throughout the building. All rooms were sprayed with very strong air freshener prior to our arrivals which only made things worse. Rooms are dirty and stale. Kitchen and bathroom surfaces stained and sticky. Found some items in the fridge from the previous occupant. Dishes in the cupboard were dirty and there were clumps of hair in the corner. I can see that hard water is an issue but there was ways to deal with that. Shower and taps were almost unusable due to the hard water deposits. Some CLR would go a long way. Fitness facility has potential but gets no attention and myself and a coworker ended up fixing the equipment while there so we can use it. If someone was to invest some labour and care this hotel could be great. Was disappointed next time will be staying in Carlyle and commuting into town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the rooms are also big with full kitchens meant for long-term stays. The beds are very comfy and they have a nice tv as well. Clean hotel overall. The only negatives I would add is that there's random shingles lying outside and the construction work on the exterior is just a little weak. Their was no juice for the breakfast.
Overall though you can knitpick anywhere but it's a great place to stay.
