Tibor and his team are the best. Tibor has helped several times on both my laptops and my kids cell phones. Tibor even took the time to help me while I was travelling internationally and had technical issues. I am very pleased with Victoria Laptop Services and would highly recommend them! Randal P

1) Had my computer for well over a month and failed to fix it, instead delivering non-stop delays, excuses, and unreturned messages. 2) Returned my broken computer to me with ANOTHER CUSTOMER'S HARD DRIVE IN IT. I cannot overstate what a negligent violation of privacy this is; imagine a total stranger being given unrestricted access to every file in your computer. I returned that hard drive directly to the owner. 3) After being informed of #2, they told me they "lost" my hard drive. EDIT: They eventually did find and return it to me. If you're reading this, hopefully it's because you're doing your homework before deciding to bring your gear in. I recommend you save yourself the time and stress - smash it on the sidewalk instead.

Stay away! After Tibor had promptly repaired 2 cellphone and 1 iPad mini screen, I felt confident about getting him to repair my MacBook Air, that needed a screen, keyboard and battery replaced. I told him what I needed done, and he ordered the battery. I already had the other parts he needed to replace, along with a few other parts that may have needed replacing due to the problem that I was having. (I am computer savvy enough to know what was wrong, just not confident enough to do the repair myself). So the battery arrives, Tibor texts me and I bring down my laptop along with the extra parts. I'm very excited to get my laptop fixed, because it was still pretty new, a 2012 i7, 8ghz MacBook Air, 11" refurb from apple, and I am tired of lugging around my bigger, heavier 2011 MacBook Pro 13". It's the 11th of December, and Tibor mentioned that he had 30 odd computers that people needed before Christmas. I wasn't in a hurry, and I trusted that Tibor would take care of everything, so I told him not to worry about it until after Christmas. He promised it by the 1st of January and I was content with that. On December 26th I check in to see if everything is on track. It's not. He says to come by the next day to pick up my computer as it will be done 3 DAYS EARLY! I was astounded! I don't believe that has ever happened to anyone in the history of computer repair! And it didn't happen to me, either. I texted the next day, and received no reply. No replies to my texts or phone calls for the next couple of days, but when New Years Eve rolled around, in comes a text saying he had had to go to Vancouver, but it was done and I could come by to pick it up the next day! Hurray! Right on time. Nope! Not! When I asked if he was in the shop the next day, I got a reply saying that he was too hung over. I could rant a novella, listing the excuses, lies, and fairy tales that have been recited by Mr. Biro - everything from sick children, to hangovers, to cancer - but it won't change the fact that I am not writing this on my MacBook Air, nor am I writing it on any of the 3 iDevices that Tibor repaired for me. that would be impossible! The screens randomly FELL OFF the iPhones and the iPad mini screen shattered when I was putting a protector on it. It is the 13th of March, over 3 months since I last saw my laptop. I hold no hope in ever seeing it again, and I really don't know what else to do about that other than warn other people so that they don't end up having to spend $3000 on replacement apple devices, like I'm in the middle of doing. You've been warned. Please don't make the mistake that I did. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN!

Awesome Service from Tibor email me back within 20 minutes (at 10 pm at night) told me to bring it to the store the next day even though they were closed ( needed a fan repaired and a good cleaning). Brought it in at 2:30 the next day he had it back to me by 8:30 that night fully repaired and cheaper then the quote. Will use him for all my computer needs

I honestly felt trapped in some kind of twilight zone. Tibor had my drive for almost 4 months. Communication was so poor that I would drive down to make any kind of contact. He would say yes he would call me tomorrow and then it would be another 3 weeks. After almost 4 months of this I finally had to say please just give me the drive back. Another guy gave me the drive (Tibor wouldn't come out from behind their screen). The dude handed it to me and said "You're good to go". I had to ask about three times for some clarification but he could say whether he had fixed it or not. They hadn't. This guy did say there was some personal reason why working on the drive was taking so long but honestly it was the complete lack of communication that made the whole process so scary. If you value the data you lost, don't leave it in these hands. I feel bad writing this review and feel for the guy but VLS needs to up their communication game in a major way. I went to ReStart and had my data back in 2 weeks, with constant communication along the way.

Wouldn't even give him one star. Brought my laptop in to get the fan fixed around January 28th, he told me it would only take two hours and would call me. Still not receiving a call by the next day, I called him only to find out my laptop along with several others have been "stolen". He said the cops were investigating and he would call and keep me up to date. I have called DOZENS of times and he still hasn't returned any of my calls. I moved from Victoria almost immediately after the incident so unfortunately I haven't been able to go into his shop to talk to him myself. I am very highly suspicious as to whether there was an actual theft or not, do not trust this person with your valuable hardware.

If Tibor's Laptop Service would be a restaurant, I am sure it would be packed day and night. It combines the care, creativity and dedication of an old-school traditional business with high-tech and world-class know-how. In November 2013 my motherboard died and until the problem was solved the service was super helpful with data backup, loaner laptop and technical advice. A clever and thoughtful service with strong problem-solving potential.

They installed a faulty screen in my laptop and then when i pointed it out to them they said that they would order another screen in and call me to bring back my laptop immediately for replacement. No call ever happened..i called and left messages over 10 times and also brought my laptop into the shop after leaving messages saying i was coming and when arrived found the door locked and them conveniently working "out of the shop that day" 3 separate times. Don't waste your money.. 400$ for a broken laptop screen. thanks guys
