They acted swiftly to resolve this situation to our satisfaction, which both my husband and I appreciated. Changed to a 4 star review! Original Review: For context, I am prefacing this as the first negative review I have ever written/posted; I am not one to complain publicly. However, after some reflection my Husband and I feel it is necessary to put this review online to help others avoid a similar situation. We have been servicing our vehicle at Valentine Volvo for almost 4 years and have spent several thousand dollars doing so, completing all recommended maintenance at the correct intervals. After recently spending ~$1800 on a tension belt replacement service at Valentine Volvo, the vehicles battery was dead upon pickup. My husband went back inside on a -25 degree day to inform my service advisor that assistance was needed boosting the car. He waited over 45 minutes for help before a service tech finally came outside to assist with this 2 minute task. The lack of customer service was disappointing, but alone, definitely not worth complaining about. Ultimately, we could not get the battery energized and advisor, the tech, and my husband agreed that Valentine Volvo would proceed with replacing the battery. The service advisor then called the next day to re-confirm scope and pricing - THIS INCLUDED AND WAS LIMITED TO: a battery cost of X, with a replacement fee of Y. We agreed to pay for the battery and replacement costs, despite the fact that the battery suddenly stopped working while the car was under the watch of Valentine Volvo; it could very well have been the case that the service work completed a day earlier by this dealership resulted in the batteries sudden deficiency at no fault of our own. After the work was complete, we were presented with an invoice that also included a new and never discussed or agreed upon "Preliminary Investigation Charge" of $170. The advisor openly admitted and apologized over the phone for not communicating this charge upfront before the work was complete, yet there was zero willingness to remove the charge from the bill. My husband was told the β€œtime was already incurred by a staff member and needed to be billed somewhere”. He works in consulting, where there are occasionally "unbillable" hours due to miscommunication with a client; these hours are rightfully charged to admin/overhead. It goes without saying that it is unethical to push any hours thru and onto a client for work that wasn’t discussed or agreed upon. Despite being a loyal customer of Valentine, this dealership took advantage of us in what I feel was an extremely unprofessional and unethical manor. I would not recommend servicing your car here.

Craig made me feel welcome and respected. He answered all my questions, introduced me to the whole team and went out of his way to be sure I had all the info I needed to make my choice. All the staff made me feel welcome and at ease. It was a positive experience all around. I highly recommend them!

Great experience purchasing our first new Volvo at this dealership. Shannon is excellent to deal with. He is professional and friendly. All our negotiations were dealt with in a transparent manner. He was willing to answer all questions and we didn’t ever feel pressurized to make a decision to purchase a vehicle. He kept us updated by sending videos of the progress on the vehicle after we purchased it. This was an awesome touch! All the support staff are equally great to deal with. Thank you Shannon, we love our new Volvo!

I have bought 4 cars in a row from Valentine Volvo and will buy more. I trust the people, the products and the service. I feel welcomed and valued there. A vehicle purchase is a big expenditure, and I believe Valentine Volvo takes that investment as seriously as I do. And I feel comfortable and confident in my XC60.

We bought our first Volvo from Shannon McDonald at Valentine Volvo. He listened first, and gave us a tour through the Volvo lineup, patiently answered all of our questions and helped us understand the cost of each option. He showed genuine pride in the brand and the dealership itself. When it came to buy he facilitated the processes smoothly with considerable attention to details. Service was clearly important to him throughout. We are now proud owners of the XC60, and grateful to Shannon and all the staff at Valentine Volvo. Thanks for a great experience!
