Transat Travel - Maple Ridge

We have had a number of excellent Air Transat holidays and I am arranging my next trip for 2020 (a Caribbean cruise or all-inclusive trip to Dominican Republic), through Jan.

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS COMPANY. Absolute scam artists. They put random unauthorized charges on my credit card on two separate occasions. They then tried adding the bs charges to my total amount, making me pay more then everyone else i am with for the same trip. None of these "charges" were said to me when I originally agreed to booking. Ive felt nothing but scammed through this entire process and if it wasn't for the circumstances of the trip I would have cancelled a long time ago. DO NOT book ANYTHING through this company.

I have been dealing with your esteemed agent Ms Ally Guidi for the 25 or so years. On every occasion Ms Guidi has responded to my travel requests with the utmost speed and courtesy. Ms Guidi is extremely knowledgeable, whether it be for airline flights, hotels, or cruising. In my opinion Ms Guidi is a most valuable asset to your organization.

My sister and I booked a 15 day combination of land-tour and hotel hop through the British Isles, ending in 3 nights through Paris. Our experience at Transat was wonderful - we booked through Jan, and we must've been in to see her three dozen times before our trip just nailing out details and debating places to go and things to do. Jan was excellent - she was very patient with us (first time Britain travelers), and she was clear and transparent about costs, perils of travel, bookings. We did a lot of independent research to make sure we were going exactly where we wanted to go, and Jan was a fantastic help with that. Transat does have a minor booking fee (I believe it was $40), and again that was clear - and I'll say right off the bat, Transat earned well over that booking cost just putting all the pieces together for us. There was a lot of work needed since we did a lot of independent excursion planning, and what Jan didn't know, she was upfront about, or asked a colleague about, or would look into for us. For a while we exchanged almost daily emails and ideas, and she even got back to us within 24-hours WHILE we were traveling (there was a snafu with one of the bookings and she was able to clear it up). Jan was helpful, professional, cheerful and down-to-earth throughout the whole experience. No trip is perfect, and ours had one or two pitfalls, but that wasn't related to the good work Transat and Jan did for us. I will say that if you have the chance, don't book a flight on a Transat plane - the cost was phenomenal (we flew round-trip to Europe with pre-booked seats for less than $900 each!!). But these are budget planes, and while it got us from point A to point B alive, there were a few times it felt like a near miss. :-) I'd book Transat (and Jan) again. 5 stars.

Seems like they've let everyone on their websites contact list go on vacation all at once. Cant email anyone without receiving an automatic reply stating they're out on vacation. Absolutely absurd.

Deb from Transat helped book our flights to a few cities in Europe. Then due to the crisis in Ukraine, we needed to change our itinerary but the major airline (shall go unnamed but its hub is Amsterdam) would not budge from their rigid rules for changing flights which has caused us to incur significant additional expense. But Deb has been very helpful, professional and apologetic in helping us develop a new itinerary.

Celeste came through for us big time on our recent trip to Mexico. Firstly, two weeks before our trip Westjet cancelled our return flight and had us moved to a later flight with a stop in Calgary. This would have been an absolute nightmare as we were traveling with 3 children under the age of two. Within 24 hours Celeste had us on another direct flight that day with no penalty for switching. What a relief. Then, in Mexico two of our party's Covid tests came back positive! AAAAAAAAHHH!!! Celeste quickly had their flights moved to 11 days later, again no penalty. Well after three days with no symptoms the couple that had to stay decided to get retested and lo and behold, negative. So then the question was, can we move their flights once more? And once again not only did Celeste arrange that, but we got a refund on those tickets since they were technically cheaper. To cap it all off, Celeste gave us a really good explanation why the extra trip insurance would be worthwhile given the current COVID situation, so we got it. Now, the extra days in the hotel and all the food expenses etc. during that time is covered. I would have been lost trying to organize this all in Mexico by myself. This is a case study in why you should book with a travel agent.

Once again Transat Travel did not disappoint! I have used Debbie Seed for 15 years as my ONE AND ONLY travel agent. She has always gone up and above to ensure our vacation is as perfect as it can be. I try to travel at least once every 1-2 years as a family of 5 (and if possible sometimes more). Debbie has helped with planning my first trip with my now husband, our honeymoon, our first trip since the COVID pandemic and EVERYTHING in between. I was not easy to work with this last trip. My anxiety with COVID concerns and uncertainty of what travel could be now compared to what it was prior was haunting me. Debbie helped calm all my nerves. She did everything she could to make sure everything was going to be OK and I knew exactly what I needed to know to be fully prepared for each step of the way. I can't stress enough how grateful I am for her and all of the knowledge she has. She is the perfect travel agent that anyone could ever need in order to plan that amazing vacation. THANK YOU Debbie! My whole family is grateful to you for never disappointing us and always creating a remarkable trip for us. Our memories are not only of the vacation it's self but also about how you helped built the perfect package for what we were looking for in a vacation. From airlines, to hotels, to dining, activities and excursions. You never over look passport details, direct flights, flight times, special deals and SO MUCH MORE. I know you look at everything possible and you never get confused or lost in all your efforts, its just amazing! We cannot wait to plan our next trip. Both my husband and I know exactly where to come to make it just as incredible as the last. Of course Debbie at Transat Travel will be our very first call!!
