Worst medical emergency experience! Had an emergency with a friend. reached hospital at 1AM, had to wait for an hour to get my friend registered then 7hrs!! to get her blood test report which was not even given to her when they discharged her at 8:30 AM in the morning. Slow, arrogant and ignorant behaviour from staff. Difficult for patients as well as visitors to wait through nights, get updates or even know what exactly is going on inside! While the patient might not have enough consciousness to be able to do anything themselves, visitors aren’t even allowed to assist a patient!! I would rather trust a doctor I hire than pay taxes to the govt and trust them to manage a hospital.

The worst experience ever! I suffered from heart pain and went to the emergency center. It’s so painful that I feel like I’m gonna pass away. They got me ECG and blood test and found those results are ok. I told the doctor it really hurts, he was like β€œIt must be stomachache, you must had something that turned bad.” I told him I know what stomachache is like, this is not. I asked him to do further body check for me but he refused it, then I asked him to refer me to a specialist he also refused it and said I should go back and have a rest it will be ok. But that pain lasts for a really long time. At the end I went back to China and had a body check, they found that my that the blood in my mitral valve in my heart is flowing backwards. That doctor in this hospital is so unprofessional and refuse to provide help to patients who need help. I can’t believe that this kind of things is happening in downtown Toronto. I really hope doctors in this hospital will be more professional in the future, if you can’t find problem, it doesn’t mean the problem does not exist, it might be you didn’t do enough checks for the patient!

I went to the TGH emergency department on February 27 for a chiropractic related injury that happened on Feb 23 and got worse over the week. The doctor is very concerned about my health and ordered a few tests to make sure I am treated properly. Although it was a 14+ hours stay in the emergency room, I do apprecaite they take immediate care of me and thier warm attitude towards patients.

If I can give a zero rating I would. This is more like a butcher’s shop than a hospital. The staff were rude and inconsiderate. When I attempted to ask staff members question they outright ignore you. I had to repeatedly try to catch someone’s attention even though I’m standing right in front of them. Also, when I finally got to speak to a staff member, I expressed that I was suffering and she outright told me that I was not suffering and was already better off for being able to see someone and get test done on the same day instead of having to wait weeks for outpatient care. I don’t care how busy someone is, this should never an acceptable thing to say to a patient. I felt violated and blamed for being sick and asking for treatment. This is disgraceful behavior.

After a not so nice experience in another city hospital, I decided to come here this morning. Besides being visited almost immediately, which was something I didn't expect, all the staff was simply amazing. The doctor who visited me was lovely and perfectly understood my worries. In less than 5 hours I was out of there with the results of my CT scan and much more relief.

Rude, indifferent nurses who do not want to listen to anything and delve into the essence of the problem. One of the patients begged them for help, but they did not pay attention, only offered Advil and Tylenol until she threw up right in the waiting room. Feeling that local doctors do not know any other medicines than Advil and Tylenol. Doctors are no less indifferent, the diagnosis is made at random. No tests, no x-rays, when you come in with a cough and a high temperature, and this is in covid times. I spent 4 hours there and they did literally nothing. They prefer you to come there half dead so it's easier for them to identify your problem. They do not prevent the problem, they wait for it to get worse and treat the consequences. Stupid and cruel approach. The hospital waiting room is dirty.

Solid emergency room. The intake process was decently quick and the nurses were nice. There were a couple of crazies in the waiting room but no more than usual. They were much more thorough in checking me out for something that I've been to other hospitals for and kept me for observation for 7 hours which is 5 hours more than what I'm usually met with, even fed me in the morning which was nice. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing and was helpful the whole time I was there.

My personal experience was very positively surprising. I had read the reviews and had fairly low expectations, but I cannot say that my experience and treatment was negative in any way. I went to an emergency room during a global pandemic, so I of course understood waiting for 1 hour until I was actually able to speak to a doctor. The doctor was extremely caring, took all the time needed to hear me and analyze my situation and carefully explained everything I needed to know and do before I was well to leave the hospital. Nurse was knowledgeable and kind. She was always running around taking care of multiple patients but she always made the time to help me if I needed something. While I was waiting for my medication to finish dripping and waiting for my blood exam, I was honestly a bit cold. The general head nurse saw me and brought a warm blanket to our around me, such a kind and caring gesture while asking me to let her know if I needed anything else. I mean, if that’s not the best treatment I don’t know what is. I left feeling better and I’m very grateful for all staff at this place.
