OUR PRODUCT

Toasters liners have been designed to fit most hard hat liners on the marketplace, and we are always working to make sure we are staying up-to-date. The liner attaches with Nomex velcro tabs or buttonholes to the inside of the harness of the hard hat. The construction of our liners is basic to all, other than the choice of outer fabric.

Our liners are designed to give the best warmth in the severest of conditions. They are comfortable in temperatures that drop to -50°C. The design also incorporates a long velcro tab that allows the wearer to turn up the lower portion of the liner and attach it to the top of the hard hat, leaving the neck exposed when inside or in warmer weather. The long velcro piece can also be used to bring the chin piece over the mouth for external protection in the more severe conditions.

The liners are composed of three layers:

1. Inner Layer: 100% Cotton
2. Insulation: Thinsulate
3. Outer Layer: choice of Nomex lllA or 100% Cotton

Inner Layer

100% Cotton. Unlike wool, it is soft and comfortable to wear and will not irritate the skin. It will not ignite or melt and will keep you safe and warm.

Insulation Layer

Thinsulate (210 g/m, 6.2 oz./yd.) is acceptable for fire retardent clothing as long as it has an inner and outer FR barrier. Inch for inch, this product has twice as much warmth than the "high loft" insulations available. It is both breathable and durable.

Neck Piece

The neck ribbing is 100% cotton as well, making it safe and itch-free.

Outer Layer

We offer two types of outer fabrics at this time to choose from to best fit your situation.

1. Nomex lllA: Our most popular, FR Nomex lllA fabric's flame resistant qualities will not wash away when laundered. This fabric is highly recommended for it's FR abilities. Toasters uses 6 oz. Nomex lllA fabric not only for comfort but also to provide the best protection possible. Safety Standards dictate that we manufacture any FR liners with Nomex thread and velcro. Combined with 100% cotton lining and ribbing, this liner provides you with optimum safety and warmth.
2. 100% Cotton: Cotton, when put to flame, will not melt, ignite or easily burst into flame. These work well where there is limited exposure to flame.
