We started Wann Izakaya Japanese Gastropub on 1950 Broad st, Regina in 2016 as the Japanese style drinking and eating establishment. Our mission at Wann is to bring "Izakaya" (Japanese gastropub) culture and new dishes such as Ramen.
Our next dream was to bring "Yakitori" which requires a special charcoal griller. This was a big challenge for us to get a special equipment and building a kitchen which we can use a charcoal. However, we believed the potencial of Yakitori since it has been increasingly getting popular around the world. Also we went to a yakitori izakaya in Tokyo to get a private training so that we can bring the best quality as good as you can get in Japan.
Since the concept of Izakaya is not common in Regina, it is hard for us to let people understand we are not only for food but also for drinks. By naming ourselves "Tipsy Samurai", we hope it gives the idea of "drinking" and "Japanese". Also we work with samurai spirit holding a yakitori skewer instead of samurai sword!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried this place out for Date Night and was not disappointed. My favorite was definitely the beer Fried Ebi and of course the yakisoba was amazing. Will be coming back again and again to try more soon. The staff were great and very friendly which made the atmosphere welcoming.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went here the other day and had Ramen, place was empty. Ramen came in big bowls with lots of noodles. Broth was fine but Ive honestly had better it was a bit salty. There was a lot of bamboo which overpowered the tase of the broth, and there were only two slim pieces of pork and a tiny portion of seaweed in our servings, was hoping for a bit more. Cool vibe inside though, and great artwork and decor. Service was prompt and good as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was our first visit and won't be our last. The food was tasty and fresh. I had the octopus balls ( can't remember the Japanese name) and some skewers. My husband had the a Ramen bowl of soup. Definitely recommend and call ahead to reserve..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would overall rate this place a 4 star. The food was to die for, but it took almost an hour to arrive. The artwork on the walls is beautiful though! Also, the Ramen was absolutely delicious would highly recommend to try out.

My tuna sashimi was so dang soft! The salmon sashimi was also amazing.
Their Ramen was a big hit at our table.
