We worked with them on a big project that included an entry way bench with drawers, a custom coffee table, shelves in our kitchen, a reading nook bench with bookshelves and a massive row of cupboards and desks for our basement. The quality of the work and craftsmanship is exceptional. Chris has extremely high standards for his pieces and no detail was too small to consider. He was very good at discussing options with us and educating us throughout the process, making sure we were happy every step of the way. When it came to install, communication was great and his friendly team always worked quickly and cleanly. All of this happened during a time of great disruption with the pandemic causing all sorts of issues. Chris worked hard to mitigate challenges and ensure we would get above and beyond what we expected. We are over the moon with the pieces we have and will definitely be working with Timberware on future projects.

We requested a custom wood fireplace surround flanked by built in shelving and cabinets based on a photo which we provided. Chris came by for the consultation and to take measurements. During installation every shelf had to be cut to fit the recessed walls which were not straight - it took many hours that day and their work was meticulous. It has totally transformed our living space. Thank you Chris !

Chris took our design and recreated it better than we could have imagined! He provided us with suggestions to optimize the use of the space and look/feel of the wall unit. He listens well, is an affable guy to deal with, and takes great pride in his work. (And as an added bonus, he can shape and incorporate metal into the pieces he builds.) If you’re looking for a skilled carpenter, who is meticulous and can translate your sketches into finished pieces of exceptional quality, you won’t find anyone better in the city than Chris Hughes.
