Yesterday we decided to explore the pristine beach of Cobourg and after all the excitement of the evening we realised that it was past 8:30 pm and most restaurants had closed. Being vegan and vegetarian sometimes gets daunting as it’s difficult to find good food serving us. The Social Bar was one of the two options open and we called to ask if anything was vegan. Harrison, one of the servers answered our call and he was extremely positive and happy to cater to our dietary choices with the existing menu. On reaching the restaurant we met with the same gusto and welcome making us comfortable and relieved that we shall get good food. Indeed Harrison provided us with service beyond expectations and the whole experience was relaxing and wonderful. When a restaurant adapts and caters to a clients needs shows how much they value customer service. Would highly recommend this place for any one who travels till port hope or even plan a dinner visit from far. Food was delicious and perfectly prepared as our diet. If I’m the vicinity we shall surely dine there again. Thank you Harrison and Social Bar for providing such excellent food and service.

We had a lovely Dine-in experience! We made a reservation for 9 of us and sat along the window. Very cute farmhouse dining vibe. They have a good variety of meal options - I had the steak frites, medium rare, and it was done perfectly. The basil aioli and the truffle gravy were amazing. We had wine, but they have a variety of local craft beer options to choose from. To finish I had the semifreddo. If you are a fan of peanut butter type treats - this is for you. It was the most elevated PBJ ice cream dessert I've ever had the pleasure of eating. So delicious! In terms of housekeeping, The serving staff continued to wear a mask. The bathroom was clean and smelt amazing (the soap was really nice too). Thank you for an amazing night out.

Run...do not walk...to the Social. Run...for the great food. Run...for the inventive cocktails. Run...to chat with the awesome staff. This is our new favorite place. Farm to table and local. My new favorite cocktail...the smoked old fashion... paired with the Smokey mac 'n cheese...I am truly a happy boy.?

We had a great experience here. Will be going back again! Brisket tacos as a starter are a strong recommendation. We had chicken with waffles and a chicken sandwich both with fries. Josh was cooking up a storm. Jesse was very personable and gave great recommendations. The pickled rhubarb was also very good.

This little hidden gem called twenty six attached to The Social is a great atmosphere. I love the dim lighting, candles everywhere and a fireplace with a couch, chairs and a table to rest your drink on if you want to relax by the fire. A great new place if you've never been, you should give it a try Talk to Jesse, the one with all the tattoos about the drinks. Jordan will always keep your water filled and Liam is an excellent cook. Great job everyone!

Was a bit of a hassle trying to find an answer to a question prior to making reservations, as they never seem to answer the phone or return phone calls, or respond to questions posted on social media. I called four times and eventually just figured I would take my chances. Very annoying though. The menu is small-ish, which I like, because it usually means they only do a few things, but they do them well. However there were a few items on the menu that were not available, and we were not informed of that until after we made our selections, so it meant going back to the menu again. There were four of us, and we generally enjoyed our meals. The toast that came with my eggs Bennie was rock hard (both well done and cold) which essentially ruined the dish. No point in having eggs Bennie if you can’t eat the bread with your eggs. Also, although we made reservations we were seated in an over-flow empty area (their other attached restaurant) and did not get to enjoy the atmosphere of the main restaurant. I would think people with a reservation should be given priority seating, and not be placed in an overflow empty space. The space was nice but wasn’t what we reserved. Other than that, it was fine and we would return. The staff we encountered were all very friendly and welcoming.

A cute little place in this beautiful little town. Offers a good range of north/American dishes. Although I had the steak and it wasn’t to my liking, everything else ordered was delicious and the service here was extraordinary. You can easily get here and parking is available.

Best meal I’ve had in years. Amazing service and truly incredible food and drinks. We split the Brie, pickerel tacos, and scotch egg and was stunned with the artistry in each small dish. Cocktails and dessert were works of art as well! Highly recommend!!
