Beamish House

Great old Skool pub in Port Hope, the food is good and service is quick. My company would have liked a more evenly mixed drink although it was a wee bit busy when we went. Definitely recommend ?

Was a late Mother's Day choice, which meant driving out east to Port Hope. Nothing to dislike about BH. Service was good. Food was good. Preferred and chose the patio over a somewhat dark inside. They check all the boxes. You won't be disappointed with them. Just keep expectations under control and aim to have a nice relaxing time.

Had a couple delicious warm cocktails on the outdoor winter patio under the stars with propane heaters rockin'. Service and ambiance was charming. Great place to take friends for pub fare and drinks. Highly recommended. Eat local!

Today was my 6th anniversary and because of Covid most of my plans went to pot. However I was going to be in Port Hope today so I emailed the bar and asked about making a reservation. When we arrived we had to sign in and as soon as we were done the hostess greeted us and right away the professionalism was apparent. Our server was Laurel and this amazing lady was so sweet and hard working. During the order process I messed up and did not explain my dietary needs and she quickly fixed the problem at no cost to me. Most servers seem to wait until you have a mouthful before checking with you, but not Laurel. Her timing was bang on and only approached when I was taking a drink. My wife ordered the steak and I ordered the chicken Parm. The first bite and I was hooked. It was delicious. The steak was well done but that is how my wife wanted it. The drinks kept coming and the tiny table was always cleared on time. The soft music playing was an eclectic blend of smooth jazz and classic soft rock. The people on the terrace were spaced out well so that we did social distance but still could not hear each other. The atmosphere was relaxing and it only took an hour for the dinner to be served. This is the best restaurant experience I have had in all of Port Hope. The staff are amazing and for sure we will be going back. My new favourite place in town.

Atmosphere and location are really good. Fantastic patio. Our server was excellent. I would give it 5 stars except the nachos were not good. The portion was small, they were cold and it seemed like everything was microwaved to the plate. We would go again for drinks but we won't eat there again.

Lovely place and even lovelier staff. The food was tasty and the patio was fantastic.

It was our first time in Port Hope and heard that Beamish House had a great patio for lunch. Before I talk about anything else I have to give a huge shoutout to our server and I'm very sorry I didn't get her name. She was rushing all over but was in a great mood, cracking jokes and making everyone feel welcome. We had the Beamish and Blue Cheese burgers. Both were delicious and would definitely go back and order them again. The one disappointment was that they were out of fish so couldn't try their fish n chips. Tasty burgers, nice patio, cold beer, and super friendly service makes Beamish House Pub a must visit.

Atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Felt like home sitting next to the fireplace. Server was very friendly. Good pub food. Will return for sure!!!
