My partner and I had a number of issues on our move-in day, including: not having access to the move-in elevator we had booked, and a number of small issues with our unit.
The building's management was very responsive to our concerns and had them corrected in a timely manner. In the end we are quite happy with our new home, and are very pleased with the exceptional customer service from the Selby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ People are friendly with a nice mix of ages, and cultures at The Selby. A true Toronto building. It is a very animal friendly place and my pups really enjoy living here. The amenities are great, and the building is very safe. The conceirge staff are amazing and the management are very kind and try their best to solve any issues. If something needs fixing you never have to worry as maintenance are excellent.
It feels like a home to me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have lived in the building for 2 years. It’s pretty nice… it has its struggles but is new and in a convenient location. Just received notice that my rent will increase 9.5% because, well, I guess they can. So, enjoy your time here… but don’t get too comfortable

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible service for fixed-term leases, and very unfriendly and dishonest staff. Upon asking permission to assign a lease to a specific person, they took over 12 days to respond, and when it was over and done with, the potential assignee (that I paid and worked to source) withdrew their application because it took so long. The Selby staff lied to me, and said they were "not qualified" and "were no longer looking for a 3-bedroom apartment" which was a lie.
Thereafter, they are completely stonewalling communication after I gave them notice to terminate my lease - since they broke basic rules regarding responding within to a specific assignment request
Be VERY careful about signing a fixed term lease with Tricon Residential and/or the Selby, and be sure to check all reviews - it appears they have many fake reviews on Google and other sites. Talk to previous residents - there are many grievances with the management (and the building, which has it's own issues and always requires fixes, emergency maintenance for leaks et cetera)
All this nonsense will eventually catch up with them. For what you get, it's overpriced, and the headaches are not worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful historical building located right next to the James Cooper mansion. I like that the two buildings are located by each other. There is a bar/lounge within as well, which is a nice addition for residents.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just moved in to the Selby a month ago, everything is fantastic just like my dream home. The management is very polite, friendly and responsible! It feels more like a community rather than a condo or an apartment building. :) Btw, it is pet friendly!!

Starts with the concierge team is always courteous and friendly; the maintenance team is efficient and helpful; the management team is always prompt and excellent. The building is beautiful and well maintained. And I just gladly renewed my lease!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely 5-stars for The Selby!
Love the layout and the appliances. The unit has Nest thermostat, wine fridge and a fob door so I don’t need to find my key for 20 minutes before entering.
The tenant app is well developed and easy to use, we can request maintenance/check the parcel/contact management etc through the app, most importantly, they respond and resolve the request promptly.
We had couple of maintaining requests, from requesting to fixing, they were done within 3 hours. Haven’t experienced any service so speedy in a long time!
Shoutout to the staff in The Selby! They are helpful and passionate, with such a high occupancy, they can still manage to provide heart warming and high quality services. Respect!
Haven’t used the amenities yet due to the lockdowns again, it’s an itching in my heart.
