My son recently completed his Bronze Medallion course at Swim Academy. The instructor (Simon) was very engaging and thorough. The days were long and I expected my son to come home exhausted but instead he came home invigorated and talking non stop about what he learned and what the next day would bring. Simon gave constructive feedback and was also able to see, foster and promote strong leadership within the students. My son is already asking when he can do Bronze Cross!

My young daughter, who couldn't even swim nor put her face in the water before this summer, was told she failed her 2 week course (she is now doing front crawl, back crawl, jumps). Even though she had come so far this year she had to do the walk of shame past the pin and medal table while others were celebrated. She was completely discouraged and her accomplishments ignored. I'm not saying she should pass a level she isn't qualified for (perhaps pass her on a lower level) but they should celebrate her achievements and be encouraging, especially at such a young age. No one there cared about my feedback. I will never go back.

I never do reviews , but I guess this time I have to. I really had a great first session experience for my son with this swimming Academy. From the manager , staff and instructors... My son's first instructor was Sarah and she is phenomenal!!! Despite of my son's learning difficulties, Sarah was able to manage and teach my son the beginner's skill....That made us enroll again for a second season. Unfortunately, this time everything was a mess. I am just hoping next time the management would encourage the instructors to talk and learn from each other in handling students especially if the kids changes instructors due to availability. Sharing of teaching experience would be beneficial. Because there are some strategies that work and some don't for children. And scheduling for make up classes is so hard,so frustrating!

My five stars goes entirely to my sons teacher Summer. She is fantastic with kids and is patient. She got my 4 year old beginner son to be so comfortable in the water doing his back floats, front floats and encouraged him to try them on his own. Even though he went under and wasn’t able to do it perfectly she kept encouraging him and it brought him to jumping in the pool after only 7 lessons, going under and getting his face wet. The only thing that’s upsetting is I would like him to continue lessons after his 2 weeks hopefully with her, but they are fully booked for the fall, and I’d like him to have continuing lessons without any breaks in between so he doesn’t have to get back on track months later when/if spots open up. So now I have to shop around somewhere else and I really really don’t want to :_(

2nd post here to recognize the contributions of the deck supervisors, instructors, on the wonderful and patient challenge they've undertaken to get Sid from someone who freaked out when in the water to someone who wants to swim to the deep end! Special thanks to Simon who helped wean off a tough bad habit early on … deck supervisors Maya and Mina and fantastic instruction from Meghan and Maya make for a well deserved 5 stars!

Great place in general, clean facilities and environment and seems great for kids to learn. For adults, not so much - the instructors are very young and not adept at teaching adults, left there and started at another training school where they have licensed instructors dedicated to adults and I am making better progress. It is a lot harder as an adult to learn swimming if you don't train your body to execute the fundamentals first (breathing, strokes, staying afloat) etc. My recommendation is to stick with teaching kids or get more experienced instructors to teach adults as well - it's not the same and it's fairly expensive.

We registered our 4yr old daughter for a program that started in September 2021. Her coach is so attentive and patient. Sometimes teaching an excited 4yr old can be difficult, but each week my child progresses in her skills. The facility is clean, the employees are consistently awesome. I feel like my daughter is learning so much. We get great feedback from the coach and deck supervisor. They really make it a personalized experience. I am so happy we decided to go with the Oakville Swim Academy for her lessons. We will continue to enrol her in subsequent seasons. Highly recommend.
