UPDATE: 1star to 3stars. The manager was able to resolve the issue & confirmed they had sent the wrong time indicated in the email. They have refunded two classes. 2stars lost due to lost time & inconvenience. Last review: I definitely would NOT recommend Water Babies. Informed me Tuesdays 9:30am and Saturdays 2:30pm were the only available times for Chapter 1. I told her I preferred the Tuesday class but it was too early due to traffic from Oakville. She said she would call me if it changes, but in the meantime, to book myself into the Saturdays. I forgot about the class and missed it (bc I booked so far in advance). I called & left a message at 8:15am Tuesday, hoping to get into the 9:30am class to make up the missed class even if it meant driving in traffic. I checked the website to see if they still had the 9:30am class, which to my surprise, when my pointer hovered over the 11:00am class - it said Chapter 1!!! I went to Rivergrove on Tuesday before the 11:00 class to speak to the instructor. She asked me to call the office which I told her I couldn’t get a hold of anyone. I kept calling to only realize that they had gone into their voicemail to change their greeting & that they were training that morning & would take longer to listen to their messages & call back. But wait…. I called and left a message at 8:15 and they went into their voicemail after I left my message! They obviously did not listen to their VM or heard my message and decided not to call me. Before I left the pool, I met two moms. One of the moms said it was her first class as she had missed the first one because she enrolled late and they pro-rated her the fee for the session. The other mom, she informed me that they had called her to let her know the class times on Tuesday had changed from 9:30am to 11:00am. I received a call at 1:45pm on Tuesday and the rep told me they would be able to offer a make up class, which was no surprise as they have offered this option to me with my other son in the past and I was able to drive to their other location in Vaughn (Schwartz-Reisman jewish community centre). She then proceeds to tell me that the other mom was notified because she was already enrolled in the 9:30 class & had to be notified of the time change. I explained that I had asked to be called if the class time changed on Tuesdays since Saturdays does not work best for our family - and I still did NOT get a call. She stated it was because I was already enrolled in another class that they didn’t call me. Obviously, if they had called to let me know this, I would have changed the days. I asked if I could change my session to the next term in June/July and she said because the program had already started there were no refunds. I wasn’t asking for a refund, I was asking to be changed to the next session. She continued to offer the make up class but only on a Friday 5pm in downtown Toronto, since that was their only available spot for a make up! I made sure to check the confirmation email of our class time today that states 3:30pm. I get to the pool ready to start the class with my baby and the instructor tells me the chapter 1 class was at 2:30pm!!!!!! I have wasted so much time on this company that can’t get their act together. Clearly, I’m not the only one who thinks Water Babies is terrible with customer service. While I was waiting to start the class, a mother told me she sent them an email about purchasing a Happy Nappy(neoprene diaper) and she never got a response from them. They were great 2.5yrs ago, and they are β€˜growing’ and have franchised their business. You can’t grow a company and work like this. I have a real problem with a company so quick to pro-rate you and take your money when it is convenient for them. I am waiting for them to call me back during their business hours and will be requesting for a refund due to the incorrect time they sent in their confirmation email. What a terrible experience in comparison to 2.5yrs ago with my other son.

My son and I look forward to these classes every weekend. The lessons are well delivered and we can already see the confidence it has built in our little one at 18 mths. Looking forward to classes in the new year!

My baby and I started here when he was 5 months. I was a little apprehensive at first even though I wanted him to start being in the water, but Shawn always took the time to speak with me and answer all my questions. I found our instructors approachable and seemed to enjoy baby swim class :) I'm so happy with my son's comfort and confidence in the water now at 11 months old that I recommend to anyone who is parent and wants to spend time with their baby not only doing a fun activity but learning some great skills. Unfortunately we are leaving at the end of chapter 3 as I have to return to work...hopefully there will be more options to families in Mississauga.
