Adam came on Tuesday to set up our alarm system for our new home. He is nice, on time and attentive to details. He tailored the system to our preference and answered all my questions. He raised some concerns about our existing motion sensor and made some recommendations without up-selling us anything. We have been with The Monitoring Center for more than 10 years and have always been satisfied with their service.

Minus 1 star only because it took a month to get a tech to come out and set my system up. I had an existing system. We did not know the code and neither did the previous owners. The tech had no problem resetting the system and adding in the cellular monitoring. Very quick and easy. So far no issues. Expensive up front because you pay for a whole year, but the discount on home insurance almost pays for the monitoring. Anytime I had to call to set up my monitoring and setup, I was on hold for no longer than a few minutes. Probably best to try and call at off peak times as I did.

Very good experience so far. Professional installers. Knowledgeable tech support. Quick response to alarms. At our first home, TMC took over generic "DSC" hardware that came with the house with no issues. At our next home, TMC had to replace the previous Brinks/ADT hardware (alarm brain and touch panels) with their own system. Added a couple wireless motion sensors on installation day. Was able to carry forward the promotional rate to new home, no problem. Happy with TMC and would recommend.

The tech support people have always been great. I actually felt for them as they struggle with a poor product. But they are working now with at least one product line (from GE) that has been discontinued for two years. No one told me that until now. But it seems you can't get any spare parts any longer. So if something gets faulty (which has happened to me) their advice is to eliminate that sensor or get a new security system from them which will cost hundreds and add $6 to the monthly bill. Or I could try and get spares myself. Up to now I really liked these folks. But this is bad news for all of you out there with those GE systems.

The price was competitive and the service was not bad. However, there are irritants that merited this the rating. TMC sent a letter dated March 22 (arrived March 31st, which is not bad delivery time by Canada Post during Covid!). The letter stated the monthly cost would go up 30% on April 1st (the day after the letter arrived). But if you would like to lock in the old rate, pay 2 years in advance! First of all, you don't give clients almost no notice of increase. Second, 30% increase during the worst time (Covid downturn) is horrible both in percentage and timing. Third, no one has heard of paying 2 years in advance. Are you putting the money in trust? What happens if you go bankrupt? Why should customers trust a company that gives zero notice for a 30% increase with a 2-year advance pay?

Fake ad let me know about the buissness (good thing i googled and contacted the right people) while they couldnt help me they were awesome to deal with and answered very quickly. Hopefully the people stealing their name dont ruin it.

I am very disappointed with the tech support. I just got the alarm installed and shortly after the tech left, I got a zone tampering alert on the sensor. the alert would beep every 5 minutes, non stop. I then called tech support and the tech was not very helpful. He finally asked me to take the cover off the motion sensor. I went looking for a ladder to reach the sensor. tech support asked to call me back in 5 mins, I said no, as I was spent a fair bit of time waiting to speak to someone. I was just setting up the ladder to reach up to the sensor when the tech then hung up on me. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.

We have had TMC since 2008. I have nothing but good things to say about this service. The equipment has lasted without fail and the call centre does a good job, very professional. Don' t pay more for any other service, they won' t do anything more than TMC does.
