The Hamilton Midwives

We are so happy we decided to go with the Hamilton Midwives for our natal care! Susie and Sofia are a dream team. They both made having our first child a smooth process and made both myself and my husband feel comfortable and knowledgeable. I am someone who likes to be in control and both Susie and Sofia managed to help me feel like I had control even during labour, when I technically didn’t have as much control as I might like. They both made my husband feel like he was part of the team, which allowed him to feel as helpful and useful as possible. Even during all the challenges that came with having a baby during the COVID era, the whole team managed to help us have as many “normal” experiences as possible throughout the whole pregnancy and birth. We cannot recommend them enough. Thank you Susie, Sofia, and the whole team!

We had a great experience with the Hamilton Midwives. This is the second time Kim supported us through a birth. I found out early on in my last pregnancy that I was high risk requiring OB but Kim advocated for me on so many levels! She was able to stay on as supportive care though out the pregnancy, be present at the birth and care for my daughter and I postpartum. I appreciated having the ability to page her and herself or someone from her team would connect back with me to answer my questions, debrief doctors appointments and talk about my options. When I was admitted due to my water breaking early a member of her team (maybe Susie) came to check in with me. This was very comforting and exactly what I needed! I am forever grateful to have had Kim at both of the births of my children. Her ability to help me stay grounded and calm was amazing! Thank you Kim!

I often think back to the team of amazing midwives that cared for my daughter and I almost 3 years ago! My midwife team were Kim, Daniella and Susie. Oh my goodness. Such amazing care and love from all of them. I had quite a bit of anxiety with it being my first pregnancy and Kim constantly guided me and reassured me without making me feel silly. I chose to have a hospital birth, and I was SO SO lucky to have Kim and Daniella there. The day after in the hospital I heard Susie's voice down the hall and immediately felt comfort. I hope to have this EXACT team again ❤ Thank you so so much, we miss you! Jess, Riley and Scarlett I will also add that a couple times I had other midwives outside of my team, and they were also so warm and loving.

I had a great experience with the Hamilton Midwives, particularly with Shannon and Touka. They were able to provide me with amazing support throughout my pregnancy and post birth. They are so kind and knowledgeable! The Hamilton Midwives also offer a 24 hour phone number where one can reach a midwife in the event of an urgent question which I had to use a few times. Every midwife I spoke to was happy to provide advice and insight while reminding me that no question is a “bad” question. Having such a supportive team really eased my transition into motherhood and I would recommend the Hamilton Midwives to anybody looking for this service.

The Hamilton Modwives have provided me with my prenatal care for two pregnancies and I am so thankful for all they have done for me and my family. Our teams have been incredibly caring and my husband and I have always felt heard and supported. Our midwives always took the time to explain all aspects of our unique pregnancies. We have never felt rushed in appointments and have really enjoyed getting to know our teams. We have trusted the advice we were given and have recommended them to all of our friends. Kim and Shannon are both incredible people. We also loved working with Chelsea, Kim and Mary for our last pregnancy.

I really loved my experience with the Hamilton Midwives. My team was Kim and Meghan. They were both incredibly responsive and made me feel so comfortable about my journey. I had a clear vision of what I wanted my birthing experience to be like and even when I had to pivot, I still felt very heard and my choices where respected. My husband is very involved and when he couldnt be at the appointments I felt like the team went out of their way to make sure he was included as much as possible. Our birth was a wonderful experience and all of the postpartum care was invaluable. It was such an amazing resource to have calls and visits through my son’s first few weeks of life. I felt like I always had an expert in my corner to consult with (which helped me avoid Dr Google). I know I started my motherhood journey more confident and reassured with my midwife team.

My experience at Hamilton Midwives was exceptional. After being in transient care for the first two months, moving cities and being transferred to multiple nurses and doctors I eventually ended up at Hamilton Midwives. Alison was my primary support and she was nothing short of exceptional. She displays care and competence to the highest degree. Mary, was also incredible, knowledgeable and calm offering wonderful support. Additional supports including Susie, Daniella and Sophia were thorough and really great; their postpartum care so comforting. I had three specialist appointments and was extremely sick through out my pregnancy. They sourced additional expertise working with doctors cooperatively to find the best support for me and my baby and they held a plethora of expertise themselves. I’ll forever be grateful for these incredible midwives. Big thanks to Hannah too for taking all of my calls and for being so organized!

I have only positive things to say about the Hamilton Midwives! They have been involved in the birth of both of my children (2019 and 2022) and have no hesitations recommending their team to family and friends! During my most recent pregnancy my care team was Kim/Katie/Claudia. They were all incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and empowered me to make the best decisions for my pregnancy. I considered myself to be quite anxious throughout my pregnancies, bringing a long list of questions to each appointment. I always received helpful information and never felt “silly” for asking. Answers were provided based on scientific evidence, their professional experience, and a reflection of what they knew about my values/personal concerns. The midwives helped me to feel confident in my birth plan (and back-up plan). I truly felt like I understood all of my options and the pros/cons of each way forward - even during the intense moments of labour/delivery. They provided excellent care postpartum, and the home visits were much appreciated! The clinic kept me well informed during the changing landscape of the pandemic, and was always able to find an appointment time that would work for me (considering work and childcare). In both pregnancies I had midwifery students involved in my care (with my consent- they kindly gave me the option to decline if this made me uncomfortable). Both students were exceptional and only added to the care I received. Overall, a very positive experience working with the Hamilton Midwives. They have helped me deliver two healthy children and empowered me before, during, and after their births. Please seek out care through this team- you will not regret it!
