if you enjoy fire alarm testing for a week during stampede, elevators breaking down every month, and building wide water shut offs every 3 weeks, then this is the place for u

I do not recommend renting here. You will get discriminated. People that rent are also move out constantly, go figure. Also no matter what you will be told about how great sound isolation is just not true, you can hear everything from neighbours.

The turnaround time on basic repair is more than 10 days and absolutely no cooperation from the building management. I strongly discourage people to rent unit in this building. Suggestion by management member on a basic broken kitchen faucet repair: "If the Riser doesn't work I would like to ask that this leak be monitored and contained by the Tenant (bucket), until the riser review can be performed next week". Please note this issue has been going on since May 1st, 2019.

Buyer Beware: I was looking at purchasing a unit in this building but after reviewing the documents provided on their website I reached out to the condo board for some clarification. The questions were around financials, and repairs that were scheduled to start according to the planning they have done. Since the condo board is self managed and a salary is being paid i assumed they would have an understanding in the repairs/maintenance and cash flow going on. First issue was when the Community Admin forwarded my email to the head of the condo board they added a "joke" in their message but mistakenly cc'd me. Attached is a copy of the email it reads: "Can you answer please, do we want to let him live here!!!!". fairly odd and troubling to thing to say in regards to some due diligence from a potential buyer. Secondly, the Head of the board did respond to my email but they diverted part of my questions to the contractor they used to create the documents (which after 2 weeks has not responded to any questions) and disregarded the other half of questions but instead choose to respond with some fluff about how the board "reviews" and "updates" these docs and how "needs can be moved forward and others deferred" without actually indicating whats been done with the maintenance/repairs i asked about. Don't get me wrong, as far as the units go they are very nice. generally open concept, high ceilings and large windows which drew me to the building in the first place, but after my experience with individuals who supposedly manage the building i withdrew my offer immediately. Note: to see the other photo of the email it looks like you need to be logged into google. not sure why it wont display normally

This condo building is always very well kept. Kudos to the cleaners! They are deserving of praise and good pay. They do an AWESOME job. Thank you cleaners for all your hard work.

Stay away from this building at all costs! Whether you're buying or renting, living in this place will be a nightmare. They have routine water shut offs every month that effect the entire building for the day, even though the plumbing company is only replacing 3-5 isolation valves at a time. Speaking of the plumbing company. This building management has subcontracted all their maintenance to two companies will charge you insane prices for any work you want done and attempt to strong arm you into paying them by telling you, you can't get the work done elsewhere. There is no insulation between the floors so you will be hearing your upstairs neighbors every footstep. The building management is never around when you need them or are useful when they are around. Security is so poor that they've allowed tenants to surveil the grounds themselves. Parking lot break ins are extremely common as the garage doors are just canvas and csn be easily cut through. The condo fees are outrageous and the building even had the gall to charge for gym maintenance while it was closed during the beginning of lockdown. The elevators at the south end of the building are in constant disrepair as the ground the building is on is unstable and causes severe building shift. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS

Stay away! The holiday Inn across would be a better place, it even has a heated pool and a slide. Pro & Cons of staying at the Gateway South Centre: Pro: Great facilities (gym, party rooms), heated visitor parking, location to Southcentre mall Cons: Elevators are constantly down, water emergency shutoff at least once a month, constant security issues constantly (cars broken into, stolen packages etc...) and horrible experience with management. The management lacks professionalism and rules with an iron fist. Honestly, it's too bad, all of the cons would probably be fixed with a better management company.

We had a very mixed experience living here over the last few years. The gym, some amenities and features (eg guest parking) are great. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with the general manager of the company. We were fined for a bylaw breach without being given the opportunity to appeal. We sent an email outlining our concerns and asking about the process of an appeal and did not hear back before the fine was charged, and nor did the owners. Moreover, elevators in the building are constantly down and this can last over several months which can be very inconvenient to those living in the building.
