To the Friendly, Knowledgeable Staff at The Finishing Store, Thank you! I was recently in the market for interior doors. I had many questions and had no idea I had so many different options. I didn't even know where to start. My salesman explained all my different choices and options. He made me aware of ordering doors and timing of the delivery. I was able to take the information and even some advice he gave me to think about which doors would be best suited for my house. With each question I had, I was able to make a phone call or send an email and my questions were promptly answered, which made the process super quick and easy. My salesman was very knowledgeable and I was able to make a confident decision in choosing the right doors for my new house, the doors even arrived before expected. I couldn't have asked for better service and I look forward to shopping at The Finishing Store for my future housing needs and supplies. Thank You, Chelsea Burch

On the plus side, they do have an excellent range of wood finishing products, and are conveniently located. However, as others have mentioned, the sales staff do treat you as an inconvenience that must be dismissed as quickly as possible. The level of service, especially for custom work, is pretty poor.

A huge shout out to Ron who was extremely helpful, professional and knowledgeable! He went above and beyond and as a result we quickly ordered our hardwood floors! Thanks to him we saved a ton of time and had the answers we needed immediately!

I've used this store twice now for wood refinishing projects that I spent some significant time on and wanted to finish off right. Both times the staff were helpful to point me in the right direction for type of product to use to finish off my project. They have lots of cool stuff for all sorts of projects.

We just had The Finishing Store provide and install our floors, baseboards and casings and they did an amazing job! The staff are so knowledgeable and the store has everything you could possibly need. The installers are very professional - Calvin & his team were great. George was so helpful and accommodating with scheduling our install. Norm coordinated delivery and it all went so smoothly. We had such a positive experience from start to finish. I can’t say enough good things about The Finishing Store. I would definitely use them again.

Extremely unprofessional service. I purchased a mantel from the store late last year. Their were several on display. I picked the one I liked and asked the worker to set up an appointment for the measurements. She took my details and told me that someone would contact me the following week. I got a call from the store the following week and was told that I had to pay $60 deposit for the measurements. I gave my credit card. Their expert came and took the measurements. I received an invoice which I paid over the phone and last week I received a mantel which was not what I saw in the store. It wasn't finished and the person who came to install it said we don't paint the mantels. Anyway, he installed the mantel and left. Later I found out the mantel should have been painted before it was installed. I called the gentleman who installed it to inquire and he said the same. I asked him why did he install it in the first place then. He said that's what I paid for. I called the store manger to register my grievance. He noticed that I was charged $100 deposit instead of $60. Usually the store returns half the deposit. I was returned $30 + tax only. I insisted why I wasn't told that the mantel wasn't going to be painted so I could have planned accordingly, he said it was stated in black and white in the quote which was emailed to me; however, we forgot to mention it when you came to the store. I have uploaded the quote for everyone to see how hidden this black and white info is. It's a shame how the manager used the quote to shrug off his responsibility. Maybe he has saved a few bucks but in fact he has lost a customer forever. He made his call and I have made mine. I hope the deposit difference will be returned at some point.

Well, I like the store and the sales people but while I was away before Christmas, I had the finishing store sand my floors and put in new trim. Although the floors were sanded well, the two coats of varnish were sparse and patchy. They didn’t use dust collection systems. They left all the bedroom doors open including closet and linen closet doors. Needless to say the dust was everywhere … brutal. They didn’t clean up and they didn’t finish the trim work. When I got home …. I had to postpone moving everything back in. I had to book a hotel for three days while I cleaned up and when I called, they were surprised their contractor would do that. It turns out that the work was subbed to another sub who did substandard work bad in addition to failing to use the proper dust collection. It also turns out that The Finishing Store did not in any way supervise the work nor did they inspect it for quality or to confirm completion. I had to send several emails before they finally admitted they dropped the ball. They offered to finish the trim ?. I paid them in full and kicked them out of my house. The finishing store has a great reputation and they will usually do a good job but make sure you are around and make sure they are inspecting the work or you will be in for a very unpleasant surprise because they don’t step up for their mistakes.
