The sales lady was so rude and dismissive of my allergy concerns I won't be going back. As celiac we need to be extra cautious with everything, even more so when trying a new place. When I asked her if the cakes were gluten free she just threw her hand in the air and pointed to the sign. Wouldn't even talk to me, just pointed. When I asked if this other section of food was gluten free, she again dramatically threw her hand into the air and pointed at the sign instead of saying anything. When I told her it's my health I need to ask her response was "we get asked that a thousand times a day so I just point to the sign".. well ya. People with serious allergies will triple check for their safety and if you don't like find another job. Horrible.

We are always looking for gluten-free baking as my partner and his son are Celiac. The Cookie Jar does not disappoint. The guys were over the moon with the selection. We purchased a pie for a dinner party and everyone commented how delicious the crust was. Spoil yourself. They are well worth it.

I am sad to write this review because the food here is amazing! Unfortunately the staff (lady with glasses) was EXTREMELY rude. This is my second second experience here with this rude staff member (I was giving her the benefit of the doubt hoping last time she just had a bad day) . I watched her yell at an old man over his question about his order today and he took a business card to complain about her as well. She yelled at him saying: β€œI’m a minimum wage worker sorry my service isn’t up to your standards”. The man was visibly upset and left. She is EXTREMELY aggressive and many people turned away as they did not want to deal with her. I have allergies and eating out for me is stressful. Instead of being helpful when I asked if an item had an allergen she became visibly mad and angry. It was very off putting as I cannot help that I have allergies .

Staff needs training! Bad customer service! It was my third time at the Cookie Jar. I went with my spouse for lunch and purchased over $70 worth of products. We ordered a chilli with cornmeal bread as was advertised on the menu. Surprisingly the chilly was really not tasting well and had no flavor at all! We went back to tell the lady who was working what happened and she responded very unhelpful and when we asked if we could exchange for something else she responded "I can't give food away for free". Instead of trying to help or sympathize she argued with us and was visibly angry! What should have been pretty typical customer service event for a food vendor turned into very uncomfortable conversation. Overall a very bad customer service experience, especially due to the argumentative staff!

I first visited the Cookie Jar several months ago. After trying most of the gluten free bakeries in Calgary over the past few years, I have finally found what I believe to be the best gluten free bakery in Calgary. The breads, pies, cookies and various desserts are consistently delicious and the staff have been excellent. Well done!!

I just can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s so hard to find good gluten free baking. My favourites include the pumpkin muffins and pecan pie. Every time I visit I end up leaving with a bag full of goodies. Highly recommend!! Oh! I almost forgot the gingerbread cookies!! Yum!!!

Definitely worth the drive, my gluten eating family normally doesn't really like GF actually really enjoy this (I have to buy enough for all of us). Rye bread, butter tarts and the pies are highly recommended. I still have more to try but I am sure are yummy too!

Majority reviews seem to be about the negative service but when I visited, they were friendly and willing to help me warm up the Cinnamon Bun from the refrigerator that i wanted to eat here immediately. Even after warming the cinnamon bun it was tough/dry/crumbly (kind of like pie crust). The Banana bread loaf was pretty good! Try these items at your own risk.
