About Michael's Pizza Restaurant & Delivery
Michael Batas started working in restaurants and hotel kitchens as a young teenager in his native Cyprus before continuing in restaurants and nightclubs in Australia. He settled in Calgary staying in the industry and in May, 1981 used all of his experiences to start Michael’s Restaurant. Today Michael’s is a fixture in the downtown restaurant scene. Michael passed on all of his experience to his son John who today runs the operation with his mom Helen in this truly family restaurant. Hand picking produce, making dough and sauces are part of the daily routine that brings people back to Michael’s.
There is a place for everyone at Michael’s, from families, to corporate Calgary to people up for a night out to a hockey game or theatre. Our upstairs room is great for private functions including company hockey pools, retirement and birthday parties, wedding rehearsal dinner’s meetings and team and department functions. Also Catering and delivery are available for groups of 1 to 400.
Bono from U2, INXS, Celine Dionne and numerous professional and amateur sports teams have dined on food from Michael’s. Chances are you will run into someone you know when visiting Michael’s

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the best gluten free pizza in all of Calgary. I don’t say this loosely as we have tried so many different gluten free pizzas in the city. These guys have it dialed. The crust is amazing and not that thin cardboard you’re used to getting. It’s a home made crust and it’s soft and thick. I honestly thought I would never have good pizza again until I tried this place. Highly recommended if you can’t eat gluten. Only downfall is they are all the way downtown and I live far away, but I will make this trek for this pizza..

I had their gluten free pizza, and with GF my standards are pretty low (I'm honestly just happy when places try to accommodate me) but the GF crust here was actually amazing, I was impressed! They are not cheap on the cheese either and you can tell they use an actual pizza oven. Highly recommend trying this place!!

I have been getting gluten free pizza here (I have celiac disease) for about 6 years and I've never been sick once. They're incredibly kind and careful about any requests and honestly this is the best pizza I've ever had in my life. That includes regular glutenous pizza. I can't recommend this place enough, wonderful gem in Calgary!
