Needs new management.

Please DO NOT LIVE here if you don't want to be frustrated and feel bad all day long because of the worse management. This apartment shares the same manager, Jennifer as The Spot next to the building which only has a 2.9 Google rating. Jennifer does not take her tenants seriously at all, she even hangs up on tenants when they really need help. She never does what she needs to do.

I honestly keep forgetting about these Google reviews. My mother in-law moved in there just after it opened. She has nothing but nice things to say about the building and the recent new resident manager (I think her name is Deb/Debbie, I seen that name in one of the other reviews so I'm thinking it's Debbie). She has had a few minor things go wrong and with a new building she understands that. Everything has been remedied fairly quickly. Last time I was there, I talked to a older guy (apparently Debbie's husband) outside blowing snow one afternoon and we had a nice chit/chat about enough snow already and he had no idea where to put it anymore. I'm usually in the building 2 or 3 times a month visiting and it always seems to quiet and clean. It is a place I would live if apartment life was for me.

We lived at the Ascot for 6 months. This is not a fancy building, but it was well built and we had nearly no issues when we lived there. Was everything perfect? No—we had an issue with our en suite water, the carpet was stained when we moved in (and never properly rectified) and the place was absolutely filthy from construction (not broom-swept as promised) and took a week to clean to our standards to move our items in. Our unit was large and well laid out, including a long entry hall, which is invaluable in an apartment. The parking garage was nice and spacious for parking (not common in larger apartment buildings). The gym is small, but was not an issue for crowding. The common room was nothing special, but serves its purpose. There is a lovely space to walk your dogs via the spot, although, our dog did get very sick from using the common areas (as many did not clean up after their pups), so be careful with that. We had no issues while we lived here and found management very helpful both throughout our tenure and during our move. The views from our unit were beautiful as well. Having the walking paths to Fort Whyte right out your door is lovely. I would suggest The Ascot to people looking for a larger and newly built rental in a great neighbourhood.
