★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place looked like it had great sushi, but unfortunately didn’t get to try any. Waited 7 mins to get seated while the restaurant was not busy while servers looked at us and didn’t acknowledge us. Finally got seated and after getting waters our sever never came to take our order 20 minutes after sitting down, while other tables that sat down after us were placing orders. Ended up getting up and leaving which I’ve never done at a restaurant before. Very disappointed to have wasted our time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ SUSHI JEWEL IN SIDNEY...HAVE TRIED TO DINE IN BUT TASTE OF TOKYO HAS BEEN A GREAT & TIMELY SOURCE OF 'COVID-REPRIEVE'...THE FOLKS & STAFF HERE ARE WORTH KEEPING IN MIND FOR ON-TIME TAKE-OUT VALUE DURING CHALLENGING TIMES, PLUS GREAT VALUE COMPARED TO SIMILAR VENUES IN YVR (BUT WITHOUT THE FERRY!). BEST WISHES TO JONATHAN & THE STAFF!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been here before and have had great food and service. The last time I visited, they were very busy and didn’t have any available tables. The server with the blonde hair was very reluctant to seat us. He could’ve offered us to take a seat and wait or leave a number but he just said they are very busy and if we can’t wait then leave. So we decided to go somewhere more welcoming.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve seen this place in passing quite a lot while living in the Sidney area and finally gave it a shot. I ordered pick up and when I went to get my food I was greeted with happy good vibes from the staff and Meynberg music playing in the back ground. Could have hung out there all day. Food was amazing and accordingly priced for sushi. Great job to all and you’ll be see me regularly.

We have so many choices of places to eat Sushi locally, but we always come back and stay loyal to ToT because of their friendly service, innovative and super tasty food, and just all around great attitude in these trying times for our local restaurants. See you again soon for some more Cowboy Rolls in Soy Paper, our ultimate favourite. Highly recommend Taste of Tokyo. Keep up the great work!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had California, yam, dynamite, Philadelphia, and spicy chicken rolls for dinner. The Philadelphia was pretty good. The others were all quite mediocre. Now of us were wowed by what we were eating. We were willing to give Taste of Tokyo a try because we were in the neighborhood. Would we order again? Maybe. Maybe not. I would have given four stars but didn't because i was really turned off by how Taste of Tokyo adds a 15% tip automatically to you bill even when you order take out and pick it up yourself. I'm a strong believer in tipping being for good service. They add 15% without asking. Its essentially just a price increase on their products.
