You can't iron velvet that's basic knowledge; as a result, my dress was ruined, and the lady wasn't very friendly about it. I would not recommend going here if you have specialty items. However, I am sure they are good at the basics.

She and her staff have done excellent work for me - hemming and narrowing slacks/jeans and adjusting sleeve lengths on sweaters and tops, and jackets. And the atmosphere is both professional and friendly!

Brought a bridesmaid's dress in to have altered - when I picked it up, it wasn't quite what I had wanted or we had discussed, but she sat with me and marked down what I was wanting. When I came back a few days later it was perfect - exactly how I was picturing, and was very happy that she did not charge me more for the extra time spent. So satisfied with this experience (again), and when I need anything altered in the future this is the first place I'll be coming to.

Shop was unexpectedly closed multiple times during operational hours, resulting in my having to come back three different times (from the gulf islands—hour long ferry trip one way and pricy cost of ferry!) to pick up the dress. Wasn’t too pleased to find a mess of 15 thick black loops on one side and 16 on the other (corset-like replacement of zipper on the back of the dress) when I got home, as it’s quite obvious and this is a $200 dress... now $270, considering cost of alterations. To the tailor’s credit, the job was done in a prompt manner.

I needed 2 work shirts hemmed, and I thought I had been clear in communicating the length I needed. I had even put on the shirts for her to see and measure accordingly, and when I came back, she had completely ruined my shirts! Too bad I had already paid. If using, ensure the service is done before paying as that was my mistake. She hemmed them way shorter than they needed to be and charged me a bit too much for what it was. Not worth my time and money. I'll go elsewhere.

An abrupt “NO we don’t sell anything” I then asked if they had it to sew on but she cut me off before I finished and said “No we don’t have it” and hung up! I was shocked!! I was wanting to adjust wrist pads and willing to have them do it or buy some to sew it on myself but I was more than shaken when she spoke to me like that. I will likely never give them my business or promote there’s. I like to support our local businesses but not this one now. There is no excuse for speaking to anyone like that. Unbelievably rude.
