β β β β β Had sit down dinner with family last night and did not enjoy it. We used to order take outs during lockdown and experience was pretty good. Not so much for indoor dining. First, there were only 2 people getting the orders and they were the same set who were taking phone orders and sending out take out orders. Thay were too busy and were trying to move as fast as they could. The one star is for them. Second, our food did not come at the same time. Big gaps and I had to follow up multiple times. When I mentioned that they could cancel the order if not done yet, they would say it's coming. Then we have to wait a bit more. Third, the food was not that good. Really surprised. The beef teriyaki came, and the beef was only warm and wasn't cooked properly. My son has to spit out after chewing the beef as he cannot swallow it. Maybe the cut of beef that was used was just on the cheaper side, I don't know. Also, I agree in one of the reviews. We had a lot of fake crabs on the golden sashimi. I had a pokebowl. Nothing impressive.
I hope they are just adjusting to the removal of the restrictions, as they were really good before. But, I think we won't be coming back soon.

β β β β β New Japanese restaurant just opened up. Taiga Japan House 1430 Major Mackenzie dr. Excellent !!! Salmon Bento box and a chicken Bento box for $ 21.33 including tax.
So much food for so little price. I'll order a sushi plate tomorrow.

This restaurant is wonderful, I eat here every other week and it is constantly excellent. Great food, friendly staff, clean restaurant. Always a delight.

β β β β β Kind of hard to visualize quality in the different sushi/Japanese huts on the net, Uber Eats, etc. Best practice around is to try it! This place is high on the quality scale, the red tuna was beautifully done and extra care put into the garnish, finishes, and even packaging.

β β β β β I love this restaurant and so it pains me to say something negative about Taiga. But I don't want to see this restaurant make the same mistake that so many others make. I know that times are tough for restaurants. We get it. No indoor dining and you are doing what you can with pick-up orders. But please do not sacrifice quality to make up for the money you are losing. What I'm talking about is that we ordered the Sesame Chicken and General Tao Chicken. In the past, there were big, meaty, chunky pieces of chicken in these dinners. Now, it's exactly like all the other restaurants and mall food courts, where it's mostly breading and a teany tiny piece of chicken. Please don't do this. If you need to charge us more money to keep the consistency of the food, please do that. When I order chicken, I want chicken. Not breading with a hint of chicken. Please go back to the way you used to prepare it before. I will pay more money if need be. Quality over quantity, especially for people who really appreciate good food.

β β β β β Used to like to go this place before but look at this sashimi combo (15pcs) for $20.99 + tax. Ive never seen sashimi combo includes fake crab meat 7PCS! what a poor combination, I wouldnt expect this restaurant is top level sushi place but this is WAY below than average. Also I had chicken teriyaki noodle, but its not the same quality I had before. half portion chicken and no torch flavour anymore. there were so many customers waiting for pick up but the waitress kept ignoring and continue to take more order by phone. I understand its busy place but then this owner should hire more servers. so much disappointed.

β β β β β Excellent meal for the second time in a row!
The sushi was fresh and had good sized fish portions. The seaweed salad had a nice addition of fresh chilies that gave it a subtle zing. The Chicken pad Thai was very tasty and had white meat as ordered. The basic salad included cucumber slices, cherry tomato, and generous but not overwhelming shreds of carrot and cabbage.
Service was friendly and our food, from walk in to ready to go, was done in 15min.
Will definitely be back!

β β β β β We supported this business during the lockdowns for over the two years. No longer!! They charged us for the sashimi that were not included in the order, put 6 rolls and charged for 8. And sashimi platter for $35 consisted of cheap fake crab meat and raw previously frozen shrimps- see photo. Guy on the phone was rude and didnβt resolve the issues. Do not recommend this restaurant.
