I had a phone consultation (pandemic protocols) with Dr Abdul Malek to discuss a dog bite. I sent him a picture of the wound and asked whether I needed a round of antibiotics. He asked me relevant details and then faxed an order to my pharmacist for antibiotics. Of course, he asked me whether I had allergies and we discussed my other medications to make sure that there wouldn't be negative medication interactions. I emailed him a picture 8 days later showing him the progress of the healing and said if I don't hear back from you, no news is good news. But he did call just to make sure I was feeling okay and not having any side effects. Very professional, very friendly, very caring, and I'm completely satisfied.

It used to be my favourite walk-in clinic in KWC and Guelph area. Now, in 2021, they’ve completely lost it all. First of all, it is no longer a proper walk-in - instead you have to phone them first and then wait for endless hours for a doctor to call you back, so they can decide whether you need to be seen in person or not. That doesn’t make any sense at all. When I go to a walk-in clinic, I expect my issue to be resolved within an hour.

Dr. Abdelmalek was a really good physician. He wasn’t rushing me off the phones, was patient and most importantly listened. It was a phone appointment and ensured that I was available to answer by following up when I had missed the call. Greatly appreciate the support!

Update (one star review previously)- I just went here a few days ago and have done a full 180. Every other urgent care I tried that day was not taking any more patients due to it being so busy, so I had to come here (I didn’t want to due to a previous bad experience). This time the receptionist was great (they have a different one now) she told me what to expect for a wait time and was super friendly and made sure I was in a room and seen within 30 mins. The doctor was quick, he approved my request for an X-ray and answered all my questions and I didn’t feel rushed or that he was trying to get rid of me. I’ll probably exclusively go here from now on. Still only leaving a 4 star review because my previous experience was so bad, but I think this experience really changed my mind about this place.

I showed up to a waiting room with empty chairs and an extreme amount of pain from an injury received not 10 minutes prior and was told they have reached their capacity for the day..... With empty seats and complete availability for the rest of the afternoon they have no capacity I would highly recommend calling before going as I walked into and out of this place of business with tears in my eyes from the pain

I would give 0 if i could ..... The doctor with the glasses was horrendous. I walked out on him because he was talking to me as if i was dumb. Making me repeat 100 times about the saaame thing. Then asked me a rude question in a very rude way and that was it. I left. ALLLL I NEEDED WAS A REFERRALL TO AN ALLERGY SPECIALIST . And i didnt get one . Im suffering from severe hives!!!!!!!

I went here to get a 2-step TB test done in September 2021. There was no wait time and it all happened very swiftly, so that was appreciated. The doctor was very nice and accommodating since I’ve fainted from needles before, and it seemed like he knew what he was doing, no sketchy business. Clean and professional atmosphere as well. The receptionist was also really nice over the phone, but not as much in person. I overall felt disrespected by her, as I was made to feel like a stupid kid who should know when I have to come back for my next shot (I don’t know that stuff, I’m not the doctor) and that shouldn’t ask for a receipt for my payment, as she started lecturing me about asking. Maybe she was just having a rough day, who knows. It wasn’t a bad place at all, just felt like the receptionist’s attitude towards me as a university student (who wasn’t being demanding or disrespectful, as I work in customer service myself) made for a somewhat unpleasant experience compared to the other positive aspects of the clinic.

I absolutely love this doctor, he is such a kind hardworking, caring, empathetic, all around good man and doctor, which in my case is hard to find these days. You can call any day and ask to speak to him, and he will always get back to you the same day, will even call after hours if he needs to. I’ve even had my toddler ignore his call without my knowing, and he made sure to call back again later to reach me. Not many doctors would take the time to do that. I don’t have a family doctor, and was having some health issues as of recently, and he took my panicked calls almost every day for quite some time, to put my mind at ease and walk me through things. He is honest and kind and really puts the extra effort in that so many doctors are unwilling to do especially being so busy it’s definitely admirable. He’s done so much for me and my family and probably doesn’t even realize it, I will always have a place in my heart for people like him that are there to help no matter what. Especially because I know sometimes I can be a little over the top with my anxiety and worry far too much when it comes to my health, but he never seemed to judge me or not listen to what I had to say. I will always be so thankful of him.
