THE ARTIST BEHIND THE CRAFT
Art Mihalcheon founded Steel-Craft on a hunch. His first business was as an ornamental iron maker. As an artist, Art earned a reputation for building beautiful iron railings and decorative products that were long lasting and strong – proudly over engineered, he would say. As a businessman, he became known as a straight shooter and fearless innovator. He refused to use cheap materials and often crafted his own tools and equipment to get the job done in his then out of the way Prairie town. While the call for ornamental iron railings lessened, Art saw a rising need for well crafted steel products such as garage doors. He took a chance on a budding home building industry, and Steel-Craft was born.
Art’s legacy of commitment to quality and ingenuity is lives on at Steel-Craft today. We still refuse to work with inferior materials, and continue to make our own parts. Art’s tool making ingenuity has evolved into a state of the art manufacturing facility that uses technology and human expertise to ensure quality and efficiency that includes minimal wastage. His pioneering attitude shines through in Steel-Craft’s long history of research and development, which has made Steel-Craft Door Products a leading manufacturer in the garage door industry.
All Steel-Craft products are built to the highest engineering standards, and our in house facility tests our products against stringent industry standards and then some. We offer our proudly over-engineered door products through authorized Steel-Craft Dealers and Distributors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible service. Person could not present thoughts clearly nor explain their product by answering most of the questions we were asking. She probably knew the information . . . problem was definitely attitude. When we left, my wife and I looked at each other and laughed. We were clearly a HUGE inconvenience for the young woman that eventually came to help us. We wandered aimlessly for 15 minutes before she came out of her cubicle to see if we needed anything and when she did, it was clear in both her expression, language, delivery and tone, that she didn't want to be there. Awful customer service (I ran a customer service organization for many years 20+ and know good from bad - this was absolutely terrible). Sad really. We do our best to support local product and business, then national and international as a final resort. Steel-Craft has a fantastic product so we'll likely still purchase a Steel Craft door but she certainly didn't help Steel-Craft's cause.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We purchased a garage package from Rona that came with a Steel-Craft Door. Rona unfortunately gave us a door that was too big for our opening. Neil at Steel-Craft came up with a solution right away, worked out a discount for us, as we had ruined one panel trying to install the door, and it was delivered right away. Not only does the door look amazing, overall we were impressed with the construction of the door and the service when we had a problem was fantastic!! These products are made in Alberta and I am proud to support such a good Canadian company with fantastic customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been installing steelcraft doors for years, i think they are a great product, unfortunately if you want a door any thing other than a plain white one you will be waiting for weeks. I ordered a door recently and they told me July 5, that day came now they tell me July 12. This seems to happen all the time with them. Its hard to do business like that. I will purchase my doors elsewhere from now on.

can't look at color samples in real life, even though you brochures and web site suggest that. Fellow that answered the phone , Don, was no help not even an offer to leave a sample outside for pick, mail it, or????? Sales must be great cause they sure don't want more. Can only imagine what after sales service is like when they don't even want to sell.
