Southwell Medical Centre - Edmonton

I was going to give a lower rating due to the poor service I received, but one of the receptionists was amazingly helpful, that's why I'm giving 4 stars! My doctor moved from another clinic to Southwell, so I had to make an appointment with this clinic. The first time I called to book a phone appointment, I was a bit dissatisfied with the service I received from the receptionist. On the day of my appointment, I was waiting for a call but never got one, so I called the clinic and talked to a different receptionist, Stefan. I was told that there might've been a system error because the appointment was booked as a regular in-person visit. I was re-booked for the next day. I also waited a long time for the re-booked appointment, so I called the clinic. As soon as I called, the receptionist (that I spoke with the first time I called) answered the phone and told me I'll be put on hold. I was on hold for 25 minutes, so without ending this call, I used another phone to call the clinic. Stefan immediately answered my call. I was frustrated because had I not called back, I could had been on hold for a longer time. However, Stefan was amazing. They were accommodating and very understanding since the first time I talked to them. They checked to see if my doctor was still in the clinic, and told me I will receive a callback from them, so I don't feel any more stress from being on hold. I finally got a call from my doctor a few minutes later. After my appointment, I also received a call from the clinic, and Stefan didn't have to but they did let me know that they already faxed my prescription. Thank you for being super helpful and understanding, Stefan!

I have always had great experiences coming to this medical centre. It is very clean and has a warm atmosphere. The office staff is very friendly. Dr. Miu is very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. She is very attentive, kind, and always listens to concerns. This is overall an amazing place and is worth the longer drive.

Our family just switched to Dr. Natiq and she has been amazing! She's been away (we received lots of heads up in advance) so both myself and my daughter have seen Dr. Amit Kumar during that time and he's been just as supportive and welcoming. The whole medical office is warm and welcoming. I've had concerns like allergic reactions brushed off in the past as anxiety but both Dr. Natiq and Dr. Kumar have made me feel listened to, acknowledged and respected. We've been able to get in same day for more urgent issues and the staff at the front were accommodating and understanding.

Waited 3 months to finally able to met the Dr for the first time. The dr was very impatient, unprofessional and rude. The dr constantly sighed and asked “is there more??” while I was providing my health concerns and family history. I requested to take an ultrasound as this always has been my concern for past years (was recommended to take ultrasound once a year by previous doctor) but Dr. refused to do check up because I was young and don’t have family history regards to my concern. The Dr. didn’t even ask me to take any other test for check up and relied on the previous medical history that was taken from 2 years ago from other clinic. Only test she asked me to take was the PAP test which I was mandated to take. A week later I revisited the clinic to take the PAP test, I waited an half hour beyond my appointment time without being advised that doctor is running behind so I just walked out the clinic. I chose this clinic after reading so many good reviews but by far, the doctor I saw was the worst doctor I’ve ever met in my entire life

My time is as valuable as the next person. I have an ankle injury that isn’t healing properly. All I needed was to know is if it’s fractured or not. I already saw a physician at a walk in clinic on the weekend who assessed my ankle and ordered X-rays. I had them done and I requested a phone consult to discuss the results. I was refused and given a made up excuse by the desk staff who couldn’t actually tell me why I had to drive from out of town. I have no valid reason why they were insisting I have to go in for her to see me and assess the ankle herself to open up the netcare report. It seems super errogant considering I just saw a doctor 3 days before who ordered my X-rays. The biggest frustration is that I showed up on time for my appointment and was left to sit in a room for over half an hour. Dr. Mui did not show up. I never saw her and when I finally left and went to the front I asked for a copy of my X-ray report, my medical information, again l was given poor excuses from the front end staff that she had to make an assessment before she will open netcare to look at the report. Then when I challenged them on disrespecting my time they blamed the doctors lack of appearance on other patients taking up her time. Maybe they should do better at booking in a timely fashion. What a horrible experience and a gross disrespect of my time.

I am completely not satisfied with the service. My appointment was at 11:15 and I waited for the doctor in the waiting room for the doctor up until 12:00. When I asked the staff a few times but all they say is doctor is busy. The doctor is busy but so am I, I also don't have time to waste. They should understand to respect other people's time . I am really disappointed with how unprofessional they really are. And this is not the first time this has happened because I have been going to the same doctor since 2015 and this is something that still happens but this was too much. Everytime I go there I have to wait for atleast 45 - 50 min every single time .

Clean office and modern feeling. The staff are very friendly. Dr Miu is one of the best doctors on the planet. I will make an hour or so drive to see her. Worth it. They are very flexible and extremely easy to work with for my physical and mental health. They are part of the primary care net work which offers a lot of programs and resources

1. I love Dr. Natiq. Apart from being knowledgeable and caring (especially towards my mother), she is also flexible with my mom's complex needs. 2. I love the clinic. It's clean and professional. 3. I love the staff. They're all so nice, polite, and attentive. They also are flexible with my family's needs. We don't wait too long in the waiting room either.
