Smith Bros. Floors Ltd. - Calgary

The quality and workmanship were excellent and the floors and stairs were completed on a timely basis. The employees were first rate, respectful and easy to have in the house. I highly recommend Smith Bros. Floors for refinishing, installing new hardwood especially the hardwood stairs. Thanks Paul.

When people see my hardwood floors they ask me “Who did the floors?” The answer is kind of odd at first. “The people who did not blow off at the mouth at how good they are.” I soon found out why Smith Bros. Floors. didn’t, they didn’t have too because they are that good. Then I say Smith Bros. is "The Go To Flooring Company in Calgary" and after three places in fifteen years I still love them. When I purchased my first home in Calgary in 2003 I shopped around for a hardwood flooring company to do the job. My realtor suggested Smith Bros. and although I trust my realtor I shopped around anyway. Funny how I went right back to who he said. That is when I came to meet Rod Martin at Smith Bros. Floors Ltd. He was honest, straight forward, likeable and listened to what I wanted. Just the kind of professional you want to deal with, unlike a couple of others that wanted to sell me on the overstocked hardwood they had. Smith Bros. installed the Brazilian hardwood floors, site finished, just as I wanted. It was done in a timely manor and the site was clean when I got back from being out of town. It sure was nice coming home to those floors. In 2005, I sold the home as I was taking on a new venture. Unfortunately I didn’t make it. After a motorcycle accident I ended up in a wheelchair and purchased a condo temporarily before deciding on a home. Once again Rod Martin was called to outfit the condo with hardwood floors.I am not sure who appreciated the job more, me or the people who bought the place eight months later. They just went on and on about how beautiful the floors were. Then in 2007, my current home, a walk out bungalow, Brazilian cherrywood site finished floors upstairs and engineered hardwood on the walkout level downstairs. They had the empty house all to themselves to do the work so it was great for them and me too. The ohs and ahs I have got from people who have come in have been countless. So why write now? Well, during the renovation of this home the timing of taking out the three sided fireplace and putting in the new fireplace was, shall we say, screwed up. They were supposed to take the old fireplace out, wait for the hardwood flooring to go down, then install the new fireplace. Just incase I or someone else in the future wanted to change the fireplace out. They put the new fireplace in the same day. Not what I wanted. The time has come. Out with the old fireplace and in with the new. Sadly I have a gap in the floor. So do I make the gap a little larger and put granite like I have on my open kitchen counters (I have a piece left over) or do I put hardwood in to offset it. (I also have leftover hardwood that Smith Bros. will use) One call to Smith Bros. and after all these years from 2007, Rod Martin thank goodness is still there, pictures and measurements were done and sent to him (he would have come out but he trusts my measuring abilities for the quote basis). Estimate was done and returned to me, I signed it, sent back in. Now I get to have Smith Bros. Floors. back to my home once again and I am pleased to get a professional looking job to finish off my new fireplace wall. Needless to say I would highly recommend this company to do your hardwood flooring. (Sorry for the long post I just had to say it all, so thanks for reading it.)

Smith Brothers flooring is the best. They've got hardwood, vinyl, and lots of interesting and innovative new flooring types. The guys in the showroom are really nice and not intimidating at all, and they really know their stuff. And the showroom itself just wants makes you want to make every floor in your house beautiful, so if you're looking for inspiration, go have a look. Thanks to Rod and Jim and the rest of the staff for helping me out with finding a fix for ugly old floors.

Paul and his team were amazing to deal with when building our new house. We had Craft engineered wood installed throughout the house. Smith Bros were extremely professional and did an absolutely amazing job. Our builder (Greystone Custom Homes) fortunately sent us to Paul Smith at Smith Bros, and for that I'm so grateful. Nothing is too much hassle for these guys - with hindsight, we would not have used ANYONE else - they were and still are great to deal with. Thank you Paul and team!!!!

Couldn't be more thrilled with the work Smith Bro's did refinishing our old hardwood floors. From start to finish the whole experience was great. The team ensured I had a schedule of events ahead of time, recommended a moving company to help with taking the furniture out of our house and even communicated every night or two with an update on how everything was going (sometimes with pictures!). Refinishing our 20 year old hardwood was such a great decision when it came to modernizing our home. They left it newly renovated and without a mess! I would highly recommend Smith Bro's!

During the install, all the finer requests we made about finishing were completed as desired - no reminding required. Following the install, the excellent customer service has continued over a few additional service items we needed addressed. Smith Bros. stands by their product. In addition to the excellent workmanship, we were very impressed that every member of the Smith Bros. team had been working with Smith Bros. for a significant amount of time and enjoyed their work - a clear indication that this is a business that has created a culture and working environment where top-tier flooring professionals want to stay. Smith Bros. has a long history in the Calgary area, and it’s easy to see why. Our floor is beautiful, and has been the recipient of numerous “wow, beautiful floor!” remarks from our guests. We’re completely satisfied, and will certainly be returning to Smith Bros for any future flooring needs.

Kent and Andrew with Smith Bros. recently made a series of modifications and a minor repair to my flooring. They arrived on time, all required material and tools were in hand and they went right to work. Andrew and Kent expertly completed all required work, answered all my questions and cleaned up all the dust and debris. I too was impressed with their follow up the next day. Look no further. Smith bros did an amazing job refinishing my floors. The guys who came in were courteous and hard workers who cleaned up after themselves.I was quoted by another contractor double what I was charged for smith bros and I could not be happier with the result. Would recommend them to anyone.
