Skin Physicians Dermatology Clinic

Today my daughter saw Dr. Neel Malhotra, the dermatologist at Skin Physicians. She is a 12yo with celiac disease and several skin and scalp issues. Dr. Malhotra was informative, compassionate and his manner was truly delightful. The location was less than 15min from Sherwood Park and our appointment was on time! This was an excellent experience for us and I absolutely recommend this dermatologist!

I did not like my experience here. I have gone to multiple dermatologist clinics, and this was the most mindboggling one. First, they have a limit of only dealing with 1 skin issue per visitation. I have multiple skin issues and I was really frustrated having to come repeatedly often with 1 month lead time between appointments. It took me 3 months to go over all my skin issues. Maybe, this is because they make money on a per visitation basis so they are incentivized to keep the patient coming back again and again, but this is really frustrating for the patient. Second, I had to be administered an injection every so often. This injection is covered as part of my insurance and is available in any pharmacy. However, for some reason, they could only administer the injection that was bought from them and the injection bought from them was not covered by insurance. That was $40 per injection. Third, the injection bottle lasts for a long time, often for 6-7 injections. However, this clinic would charge me $40 every single time for an injection bottle. I have gone to other clinics, given them an injection bottle and have had them administer this injection to me 10 times now at 10 different times. I do not understand what is so special about the injection this clinic is giving. In conclusion, seems like this clinic is only interested in making money. Go to a clinic that cares about the patient and does not want to rip them off

I have been coming to this clinic for treatments by Yolanda for the past few months. This has definitely been the best experience I have had so far, not only is Yolanda very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, the facilities are extremely nice and clean. I am seen promptly and Yolanda always follows up on any concerns from my last visit.

My daughter and I have been patients of Dr. Libsch for 4 years now. I was introduced to her when my own doctor left the province and Dr. Lipch took on some of her patients. What a great turn of events! I would have never known that such a gem of a doctor existed. She is an extraordinarily committed doctor. So patient and meticulous. I'm always amazed at how thoroughly she remembers our medical backgrounds. Her experience is vast. She recently saved my daughter a trip to the emergency room with her quick, accurate diagnosis and prescription choices. Since time was of the essence, she even spoke to our pharmacist to ensure that the prescriptions would work with her existing medications and allergy issues.  We were so thankful!  She even called a couple days later to check in on her. And as an added bonus, she's also a really warm lovely lady! We feel so blessed to have found her.

On January 25, 2022 I accompanied my husband for his second lump removal (lipoma) at Skin Physicians Dermatology in Cartmell Place south Edmonton. The first appointment took place on Dec. 7, 2021 to remove two lumps on the same day with one being a cyst and the second being a lipoma. We were so disappointed to have had to wait 1 hour 15 minutes beyond our scheduled appointment time to begin our surgery as they were running behind. Imagine how disappointed we were to further find out that they would only remove the cyst as time had run out. Then today, January 25, 2022, after coming in 15 minutes before our surgery time and waiting over an hour again, we find out that Dr. Karen Libsch, our doctor performing the lipoma removal, is once again running late and we could rebook our appointment or go for coffee somewhere and return in 45 minutes. It was in fact, a total of 2 1/2 hours after our scheduled appointment that we were ushered in for the actual surgery. To say that we were upset would be an under statement as we had travelled a fairly long distance from Sturgeon County all the way to this very distant south location to get here. We were totally upset at how this lack of attention to the time needed for the doctor to perform the necessary procedures was happening to us for the second time. This lack of attention to the commitment required by the staff at Skin Physicians has greatly impacted our lives as we have stayed away from ALL friends and family so that we could honestly and accurately say we followed all the Covid restrictions to protect ourselves and all those people we would be coming into contact with. As we babysit our grandchildren, both our son and daughter had to take off a personal holiday to accommodate us so we could have this medical Center professionally take care of our important medical issues. Their thinking that they could simply cancel our appointment and rebook us into another time was absolutely not acceptable. The staff here need to realize that many patients don’t have unlimited days off for this and that it was EXTREMELY selfish and unacceptable that they would think otherwise. On top of that we spoke with another patient who had to regrettably cancel her present appointment after waiting 1 1/2 hours to see the same doctor as she had another appointment in the afternoon. However, we would like to thank the manager, Kelly, for taking the time to talk to us about this recurring problem. Hopefully, by accepting that there is a problem here with scheduling appointments and by taking the necessary time to discuss and look for solutions with their staff, changes will be made to better serve their patients in the future.

Being a newbie to skin care at the tender age of 29(+10) I decided I needed to a seek a professional to get help. Hoping to fix what’s broken, maintain what I got, and gain a little more confidence in what overall skin care should look like for a young pup like myself. Well let me tell you, I have hit the jackpot. Her name is Yolanda! She has been absolutely AMAZING! She calls you to follow up on any recent appointments, calls to remind you to start or stop using product to ensure the next appointment is 100% successful—who does that now a days?! She genuinely cares—and to me, that’s a hard quality to find these days. My appreciation for her is HUGE and I can’t wait for the next appointment, and the next, and the next!!!!

The lady at the front desk was great. The one I met in the room was very unfriendly and didn't even look at me. The dermatologist came in and just brushed off my questions and just referred me on. Not great bedside manner, was probably in the room for 2 minutes. It was rushed and I'm not happy with the experience. They both left the room without saying anything.. I finally came out left. Awkward uncomfortable experience.

I have been going to Skin Physicians for over a year and most of my experiences have been amazing. Dr Malhotra for dermatology and have extended into the cosmetic procedures with Yolanda. The treatment teams are amazing, super caring and knowledgeable. The downfall is the reception and appointment reminders…. I understand they are looking into some amazing apps which will help alleviate the issues with reminders and hopefully the wait when you call. The treatments and care provided are excellent and I highly recommend this business for their thoroughness and skill. Hoping the front end has more support to become more efficient.
