Had been taking our indoor cat here since we got him as a kitten. We buy a cat diffuser product from them to ensure Apollo doesn't feel lonely when we are away, and when we went to pick it up curb-side they told us to call back and book him in for his second shots. When we got home inside the bag was two pills (which we were charged for, without consultation, and without Apollo having any check up in over six months) and instructions saying to give one pill the night before shots and one pill the morning of. My fiancΓ© has never had pets and all my cats have been outdoor, so I thought it was likely a deworming pill. Within half an hour of giving it to Apollo our cat was throwing up profusely and unresponsive on the floor. When we called the vet they explained it was a sedative to make the vaccinations easier. Upon calling to complain the next day about the lack of ethics involved in prescribing 3x the recommended dose (6x if we had given him it in the morning) without consultation, exam or even knowing our cats weight, Dr Jacobsen was extremely defensive and unapologetic. She said it was OUR fault for assuming it was a dewormer. This is like prescribing a child Ritalin without ever examining the child. If our Apollo was experiencing liver troubles he could have died. LACK OF ETHICS, LACK OF SERVICE, LACK OF CARE FOR AN ANIMALS WELL BEING.

Amazing! The whole staff is amazing!! Being referred here by Dr Oz after being milked and used by Fairfield who wrongly diagnosed my cat on over 5 trips and over 2 months who watched him slowly starve and spending thousands of dollars on useless tests was the best thing that could have happened! His teeth were so bad he had open nerves showing on almost every tooth and was one of the worst cases she said she's seen. She realized right away he was critical and couldn't wait to be seen, they came in on days off, stayed late, and did whatever it took to keep him comfortable and get him fixed up through surgery and after care. The staff was so amazing, caring, and helpful and their care for animals poured through their work. I have no doubt my cat would have died had I not found Theresa, Allen and crew! 5 stars is not enough! β™₯️β™₯️

Absolutely the most conscientious and talented staff at this clinic! I am so thankful my new vet offered a referral to Dr. Jacobson for a difficult dental on my older, tiny, 5-pound Papillon. My dog had extreme difficulties after anesthetic several years ago with a different clinic, and now he had to have some loose teeth removed. Ultimately, all his remaining teeth had to be removed; however, he bounced back from this surgery immediately and with zero issues! I have never seen a dog recover from anesthetic so quickly and easily! I cannot thank Dr. Jacobson and her wonderful staff enough for taking such wonderful care of Gabe and will be forever grateful my little one is now healthy, happy and pain free.

The single most unprofessional Veterinary clinic in the Okanagan. I wouldn’t trust any advice from Dr. Jacobson as she doesn’t ask for facts, just assumes. She refused to speak to me on the phone and doesn’t offer follow up with her clients. Absolute worst experience dealing with this clinic, stay clear!

Beautiful location with a pond to walk around if you have to wait a bit longer. Allen was amazing and squeezed us in when there was some confusion about our appointment date which was entirely my fault! Dr. Jacobson was extremely professional and gave me a very informative consultation about what was needed for my beloved dog and we went home to Kamloops feeling equipped to make good decisions.

Our cat, Kuro, had broken his jaw shortly before Christmas and we were referred here to see if he needed surgery. This was one of the best experiences I've had with a vet in my life. I've had some pretty bad experiences with specialist vets who've ended up causing more harm to my pet in the long term, so I was initially very worried about something similar happening. Especially since he wasn't able to properly eat. Those fears were squashed when we saw the pictures in the examination room that showed Dr. Jacobson preforming dental surgery on a literal bear. When we first took him in, they prescribed him medication that ended up making him sick (he didn't like eating wet food which contributed to him getting sick) and they were still able to make time for him the morning after despite being the last day before they closed for holidays. They gave us different medication which helped him eat, along with a bunch of different wet foods so that we could make sure he ate. After it became obvious that Kuro had lost a few pounds, we ended up having to buy specialist food from them, but when Kuro stopped eating it they were amazing enough to let us return the unopened cans. They were very responsive to calls, and were insistent that if something happens when they're closed we could still call and they'd get back to us as soon as possible. We had to take them up on that twice and got a call back the same night. We also got a few calls over the course of Kuro's healing to check in with how he was doing. Dr Jacobson was extremely knowledgeable and her love of animals was very clear in our interactions. She never gave off the vibe that she was trying to upsell us on things he didn't actually need. The treatment recommendations were things she said she would do if her cat was in the same situation. She even told us not to go forward with surgery and try to let it heal on its own, which thankfully it did! On our last visit, they were running a bit behind and Kuro ended up having an accident in his crate. They were nice enough to clean him up and they replaced the towel with padding and a pee pad. They also gave him a pair of catnip toys and a sample bag of some dental food he needs to get on in a couple of months. I'm beyond greatful for the staff at Sitara, I was so worried about what was going to happen to him but thanks to Dr Jacobson and the other wonderful staff, Kuro's back to his normal playful self. I can't give enough praise.
