★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I lived on the top floor of a 4 story walkup. The apartment as a whole was 'okay'. It's not fancy and the floors aren't even, you can roll a pen from one side to the other.
When my toilet was broken they hds someone come to "fix" it, all they did was jimmy rig it. I had to complain multiple times for squirrels in the roof with promises of it being fixed and never was.
Move out time.. they are more than happy to deposit your rent cheque and hound you if you don't give multiple post dated cheques (yes they only accept cheques). However, attempting to receive your security deposit is another story. They tell you the owner has been away and will "probably" be in to sign it in the next couple of days. I moved out 26 days ago and have yet to receive my cheque.
All in all its a roof over your head, but don't expect timely fixes to problems or your security deposit back within legal time limits.
